Rock n Roll All-Stars Buenos Aires Chat - Joe Elliott Quotes

Next question is for Joe. Joe, this is from Isabella in France. Who asked you in French, what is your favorite part of playing live?

"The audience. Simple. The audience. If you don't get a reaction to your songs, you are doing something wrong. And we work very hard in the studio to bring that energy in front of an audience. And if you can create it and keep a song a hit. Every time you play that song, even 30 years after you recorded it, and it still gets a great reaction, that is the best bit of being in a band, you know, the reaction for the crowd and the song. The song. So not me, it's the song. Thanks for asking."

The next one is for Joe. It's from Ebony in the U.S., who asks, who are some of your musical influences? What concerts have you attended?

"Too many concerts to remember. My first ever concert was 1971 at the Sheffield city hall, and it was T-Rex on the Electric Warrior tour. It was a mind-blowing experience. It changed my life. My musical heroes were Marc Bolan, David Bowie, pretty much, that sums it up. And from then, I been splintered out. I live, I love everything from Mozart to Mott."

This question is for everybody. It's from megan in the states. Megan, I am not sure how you want to start. She's wondering what inspired you to become part of a rock band?

"I just figured it was better than working for a living. So, I became a musician. And I worked, never worked so hard in my life."

This next question is for everybody. So, Gene, I don't know if you want to start or not. It's from Ester in Brazil who asked in Portuguese to everyone, do you have any advice for aspiring musicians?

"My advice is go with your gut. Go with what feels right. I don't really do advice because what works for me would not necessarily work for someone else. So if you feel it, and it feels good, do it. If it ties your stomach in knots, it's probably not a good thing to do. That's what I would say."

The next question is for Joe. Joe, this is from Giorgios in Greece who asked you in Greek, what would you say is your biggest fan base and why?

"Our biggest fan base per capita is Canada. Obviously, by just numbers in general, it's America. But, it's not so far off. Britain is great. The UK is good, but Canada and America and Britain."

Ok, this is the last one. This one is for everyone, but I don't know if one or two people want to take it. It's from Sasha from Brazil who asked in Portuguese, what is the most important lesson you have learned from all your years in the music industry?

"Mean what you say."
