The venue is located in the city centre and next to the UPMC Park baseball stadium and on the coast of Lake Erie.
It was opened in June 1983 as the Erie Civic Center.
It was then named as the Louis J. Tullio Arena from 2008 to 2012 when it became the Erie Insurance Arena.
It was renovated from 2011 to 2013.
Rick Allen celebrated his 29th birthday at this show.
This show was played In The Round with the new lighting rig which was much lighter than the one used in 1987/1988.
The October 1987 show had to be played at one end due to the weight restrictions of this venue.
