  • Location / Anchorage, AK, USA
  • Venue / George M. Sullivan Arena / Sullivan Arena

The first show by the band in this city and state.

The first time at this venue.

The venue is located in the North of the city centre and within the Chester Creek Sports Complex of venues that also includes the Ben Boeke Ice Arena plus the Mulcahy Baseball and Anchorage Football stadiums.

It was opened in February 1983.

The opening night of the third leg of the North American tour with Tesla back as support act having said their goodbyes in February in Odessa, TX.

The band were welcomed back to the tour ahead of writing and recording their second album 'The Great Radio Controversy' which would be released in February 1989.

'Don't Shoot Shotgun' would be a regular of this first leg of the tour which which kick off properly just over a week later in Canada with more In The Round shows.

Technically this show was a continuation of the Japanese tour with the band having travelled straight here after the Nagoya show.

Anchorage had previously only been a stopover city for the band on their way to and from Japan.

Phil later told an interview that the crowds in Anchorage had been especially wild and crazy due to them not having many rock bands play here.
