song trivia

The song sounds very much like a Joe Elliott demo which accounts for his credit as having played the guitar solo as he tends to do on his own home demos.

The X in the song title stands for "Times". As in ten times bigger than love. Unlike the album 'X' which was originally intended to be the Roman Numeral for the number Ten signifying the band's tenth main album release.

song disclaimer

(Disclaimer from Phil & Viv) - "Joe plays the solo, nothing to do with us!."

Written on the DVD/CD single inner sleeve credits.

Gimme A Job / song lyrics sample

Yeah

Gimme a job
My love is unemployed
Gimme a job
And my heart ain't overjoyed

Gimme a job
I don't mean to be paranoid
So come on over baby
And gimme a job

Oh yeah

I don't care
If the pay's no good
Just gimme some shelter
And throw me some food

I can do the overtime
And I won't strike
Sign on the dotted line
Anything you like

Yeah
