Single Notes By dltourhistory

The first single from 'X/Ten' was released in August 2002. 'Now' featured a more stripped down approach than 'Euphoria' with acoustic drums used. One of three collaborations on the album with Marti Fredericksen who co-produced and co-wrote the song. It gave the band another UK Top 30 hit and did well on the US rock charts.

The song was released as a three CD set in the UK. The CDs were colour coded. The cardboard sleeve featured the main promo pic and Def Leppard logo in a shade of red with red around the edges and the back sleeve. Each CD came in a slim card sleeve that fitted inside this case. CD3 itself was identical in colour design to the outer box - the same catalogue number is printed on both of these. CD1 had the normal promo pic with blue background (no overlay shading) and a black edged/back sleeve. CD2 had a green shade to the promo pic with purple outer edges and back sleeve. CD ONE, CD TWO, CD THREE were marked below the song title on each cover plus a small sticker on the bottom left corner mentioning the B-Sides, web address and catalogue numbers.

CD1 of this set was enhanced with the Now promo video. A black screen appears with a promo pic of the band in the center of the screen and the video with control options in the middle. The video is an 83.5mb .mov quicktime file. European editions of the single featured two demo versions of album tracks and two classic songs. The demos were also used on a different international 2 CD set.

The US promo CD featured a radio edit and the album version. It came in a custom slim digipak, the same cover as the UK but with a purple tint to the background behind the band. A UK promo CD also had the radio edit.
