Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen recently completed a new painting of Eddie Van Halen and has talked about meeting the late guitar legend.
Rick has spoken to Ultimate Classic Rock about his Legends Series artwork and his memories of the late great Eddie Van Halen.
Rick revealed his new Legends Series paintings in March including one of Eddie Van Halen, who passed away in October 2020.
Eddie passed away aged 65 after a long battle with cancer.
Joe Elliott dedicated his radio show to Eddie just a few days after his death.
He was then joined by Phil Collen who was a guest DJ on the short lived Van Halen tribute channel for SiriusXM playing his Top 12 Van Halen songs and talking about each track.
Phil paid tribute to Eddie again last month as part of SiriusXM Guitar Greats and was once again a guest DJ.
In the interview Rick talked about his feelings on the pandemic, his Legends Series artwork, seeing an early Van Halen show in Sheffield (also attended by Joe Elliott), his Eddie Van Halen painting and meeting him.
Later tonight Rick will be at the Wentworth Gallery in Fort Lauderdale, FL for his latest series of art events.
This will be followed on on 21st and 22nd in Hollywood, FL and Boca Raton, FL.
The latest 'Legends Series' paintings will be displayed including Tom Petty, Neil Peart, Prince, Kurt Cobain, Johnny Cash and Eddie Van Halen.
