Mick Mars Won't Perform On DEF LEPPARD/MOTLEY CRUE's The World Tour 2023

Def Leppard 2022. Def Leppard 2022

Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars will not perform alongside his band mates and Def Leppard on The World Tour 2023 tour after announcing his retirement.

The World Tour 2023 starts in Mexico City on 18th February 2023.

This first leg features 8 shows in outdoor stadiums across Central and South America.

The second leg starts in Sheffield in late May and runs to early July with 20 stadiums, arenas and/or festivals to be played across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

After weeks of speculation and rumours guitarist Mick Mars announced last night that he will no longer tour with Motley Crue.

This is due to his ongoing issues with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.) which has affected him since the age of 17.

His replacement on tour has been confirmed in the last hour as John 5 formerly of the Rob Zombie band.

Mick will remain a member of Motley Crue but not a touring member.

They have also posted a statement on Mick's retirement (posted as this story was being put together).

Sav has also posted a tribute to Mick.

First Shows With Motley Crue

Motley Crue played their first ever concerts on 24th April 1981 at The Starwood in Los Angeles, CA.

Two sets were played as the opening act for Y&T.

The first show opened with the song 'Take Me To The Top' and in a sign of things to come a fight broke out with a crowd member involving both Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx.

The setlists included all of the band's debut album including three songs played in 2022 - 'Live Wire', 'Too Fast For Love' and 'Piece Of Your Action'.

Mick performed at every show with the band since that day.

Final Show

Mick's final show with the band, as it turned out, was not in December 2015 on "The Final Tour" but in Las Vegas, NV earlier this year.

The show at Allegiant Stadium on The Stadium Tour was Mick's last appearance with the band on stage.

The show took place on 9th September and was the last of 36 shows played this year with Def Leppard.
