Show Intro

"Good evening everyone and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the marvellous Planet Rock. Great to be with you once again as always. I have got some in my humble opinion magnificent stuff lined up for you tonight. Starting off with the British Lions."

British Lions

"Not to be confused with Steve Harris' side band British Lion. That is British Lions plural. From 1977. They were the spin off of Mott. Who themselves were the spin off of Mott The Hoople. It was essentially Mott minus Nigel Benjamin. Replaced by ex-Medicine Head frontman John Fiddler. From their debut album it was also the B-Side f their first single One More Chance To Run. Once covered by the Down 'n' Outz. It is Booster."

Cherie Curry

"Now here's a couple of really groovy covers. Starting off with ex-Runaways front lady Cherie Curry."

"And before that Cherie Curry ex-front lady of The Runaways who of course also featured Joan Jett and Lita Ford. It was recorded during band camp. So it's on the Band Camp website. Great cover of the old Shangri-Las classic Leader Of The Pack."

Ace Frehley

"Now when all four members of KISS released solo albums on exactly the same day way back in 1978. Nobody expected Ace Frehley's album to be the biggest seller of the lot. But it was and it was helped a lot by the song that we just heard. It's a cover of a Hello tune from 1974. The original version released back then. It is New York Groove."

Pat Travers

"Now here getting his particular groove on from 1976 this is Pat Travers."

"And before that from his debut album in 1976. Saw him live opening for the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. And he was absolutely amazing. It is Pat Travers. The song, or songs, Medley Part 1 And 2.

Roxy Music

"All seems to be about the groove this show so far at least. Fantastic drumming from Paul Thompson there. Really groovy actually. It is Roxy Music from their 1975 album Siren with Just Another High."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. It is time for a little break and when we come back, by request, sort of."

Wishbone Ash

"And before that Wishbone Ash. Now we all know this is not a request show but after I played the Ash maybe three weeks ago. I had so many emails saying thank you for playing Wishbone Ash. They're ignored nobody ever plays them. So I've dived back into the Argus album and for all you people that love Wishbone Ash we heard Sometime World."

Swag

"We in camp Leppard refer to that band as Baby Cheap Trick because they're huge fans of Cheap Trick. And they often come to see us, they're friends with some of our crew. And for the last 10, 15 years or so, we see these guys everytime we tour the States. And they make very catchy music. They're always handing us these CDs going here's our latest thing have a listen. Very Cheap Trick. Very Beatle-esque. The band are Swag. From their album Catch All we just heard She's Deceiving."

David Bowie

"Right time to glam it up a little bit. This is David Bowie."

"And before that David Bowie featuring more amazing guitar work by Mick Ronson. Who was actually playing note for note the same stuff that Marc Bolan had played on a previous version of the song. That version with Bolan was recorded in 1970. This particular version recorded in 1973 for the Aladdin Sane album. The song Prettiest Star."

Genya Ravan

"So the story goes that when that lady was recording that particular song she was meant to be duetting with one Mr. Van Morrison who failed to turn up. So they hastily got in a replacement who just happened to be Ian Hunter. What a great decision that was. The lady in question is Genya Ravan. Not really sure how we pronounce the name. It is from an album called And I Mean It. And by the way what an amazing guitar solo by Mick Ronson on that song. The song is Junkman. Which was only about ten years ago Ironically covered by myself and Ian Hunter's daughter Tracie."

Show Outro

"And that my friends for this week is about it. Been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then let's go out with a stonker. From Use Your Illusion I this is G N' R and Right Next Door To Hell. Until next week see ya."
