Show Intro

"Greetings one and all and welcome to The Joe Elliott Show right here on, yep, the wonderful, wonderful Planet Rock. Always a pleasure to be with you. We've got sixty minutes, one solid hour of fantastic music in my humble opinion to play for you tonight. Sensational some of it. Including this one by, yes, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band."

"From the 1973 album that is Next. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Wonderful stuff. Opening track of the album Swampsnake."

Poison

"Now if you were listening a couple of weeks ago you may remember that I played a song called Glitter by Motley Crue. Which just happens to be one of my favourite Motley Crue songs ever. And at the time I said next week I shall play you some Joan Jett and some Poison. Who are also on this Stadium Tour that we're doing with the Criue. Which starts in Atlanta, Georgia on the 16th June. And yes before you ask we are bringing the tour to Britain and Ireland in 2023. Anyway I was supposed to play Poison and Joan Jett the following week. And how very remiss of me I forgot. And I was reminded of that fact by a listener this week. So without further ado here are two fantastic, glam-tastic covers. In a few minutes time Joan Jett. Right now this is Poison."

"Before that we heard Poison from a covers album that they did called Poisoned. With their version of David Bowie's Suffragette City."

Joan Jett

"The only true way to describe Joan Jett is ball of fire I think. You've gotta see her live to appreciate the fact that she's an incredible performer on stage. And there with her Blackhearts from an album called Sinner. She's doing a fantastic cover of a song called A.C.D.C. Not an AC/DC song but actually a Sweet song. Which wasn't about AC/DC in the first place. I'll leave that up to your imagination."

Eddie Vedder

"Right then featuring a guest performance by one Mr. Elton John on piano and vocals. This is brand new Eddie Vedder."

"And before that Eddie Vedder from a brand new album called Earthling. Featuring Elton John on guest vocals and piano. The song we heard Picture."

Bryan Adams

"Some more new music for you there from Badams. Yes, Bryan Adams who's reunited himself with Mr. Mutt Lange on this particular record. But I think between Bryan and Mutt there's about half the album is the two of those. He also works with Jim Vallance who's his long time writing partner way back in the days of things like Cuts Like A Knife. The album is called So Happy It Hurts. The song we just heard. Actually my favourite song on the album. It's called Never Gonna Rain."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're going for a ride on the old red rose speedway."

Paul McCartney/Wings

"And before that Paul McCartney from the deluxe edition of that album that is Red Rose Speedway. With another fantastic bit of acoustic work. The song Little Lamb Dragonfly."

Lindisfarne

"You know when you're in the mood for it, some lamentable minor chord acoustic music is just what the doctor ordered. Imagine laying in the bath. Lights turned down, candles on giving it some of that. Be right up my aley that would. That's Lindisfarne from their 1970 album, so brilliantly titled, Nicely Out Of Tune. With a wonderful song called Lady Eleanor."

Boston

"OK time to rock again. This is Boston."

"And before that we heatd the mighty Boston from their second album. In fact it's the title track Don't Look Back."

Foreigner

"Channelling their inner Led Zeppelin and boy don't they do it well. That is Foreigner from an album called Agent Provocateur with Stranger In My Own House."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. But you knew that already didn't ya, because I love doing this show. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial because come on where else would you wanna be other than right here with Planet Rock."

"So until next week I shall leave you with this. As I journey off into the wild frontier. Yes, I'm going Over The Hills And Far Away. Just like Gary Moore. So until next week see ya!."
