Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Wow am I excited about this. I've got sixty minutes of music for ya. But what we're gonna start the show off with is the Daddies of them all. They are back and they are back with a bang. This is The Rolling Stones."

The Rolling Stones

"How about that distorted bass from one Mr. Sir Paul McCartney. Macca playing with the Stones. You'd never have dreamt that in the Sixties. Wonderful stuff. And Jagger sounds like a 20 years old punk. It's incredible, the guy's 80 years old. And I am so happy to announce that this new album Hackney Diamonds is absolutely magnificent. And we just heard the track Bite My Head Off. And trust me we;re gonna be hearing a lot more from that album as the weeks go by."

Alice Cooper

"Now here's another gentleman who's still making great music and he's getting up there too. This is Alice Cooper."

"And before that we heard the mighty Alice Cooper from his most recent album Road with the opening track I'm Alice."

Van Halen

"From their magnificent debut album back in 1978. That is Van Halen with Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love."

Zoot/Rick Springfield

"Well I started the show off with a Rolling Stones song which featured a very special guest in Sir Paul McCartney. Here's one of Macca's songs done very differently by an Australian band called Zoot. Recorded in 1970 and featuring a very very young Rick Springfield. Let's see if you can guess which Beatles song this is."

"And before that we heard the Australian band Zoot here he started his career off back in 1970. Did you guess straight away?. I certainly didn't when I heard it. It is of course Eleanor Rigby."

Rick Springfield

"And that is the solo Rick Springfield from his latest album Automatic with the opening track Exit Wound."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up, going for a couple of orbits round the moon with Television."

Television

"And before that Television. All 10 minutes and 38 seconds of the title track of their album also from 1977, Marquee Moon."

Mink DeVille

"Their solitary UK hit back in 1877. That is Mink DeVille from an album called Cabretta. The song Spanish Stroll."

New York Dolls

"Right we're gonna go live for the next couple of songs. Back in 2004 Morrissey, god bless him, talked the remaining members of the New York Dolls into reforming. And they did a gig for him at the Royal Festival Hall. I've been riding my Peloton bike to this particular DVD all week. So I thought I'd share something with you right now. So starting these two live beauties off are the New York Dolls."

"And before that we heard the New York Dolls live from the Royal Festival Hall in 2004. With a brilliant medley of a Johnny Thunders track, Of course Johnny Thunders their fallen brother. The song is You Can't Your Arms Around A Memory which melded beautifully into their very own Lonely Planet Boy."

Blue Oyster Cult

"Now that my friends has to be one of the meatiest, chunkiest guitar riffs ever written. It is Blue Oyster Cult from the live album Some Enchanted Evening with the mighty Godzilla!."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. But hey I say it every week but I mean it every week. You know that, it's great fun to do this. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial. Where else would you wanna be.

"And until then I'm gonna leave you with something brand new. A friend of mine Ray Fean, who played drums with me and Sav in a Glam tribute band many years ago. He's the brother of Johnny Fean, once the guitar player in Horslips. Sadly no longer with us. He sent me this song. he said you should give this a listen. And I thought, you know what mate, I'm not just gonna give it a listen, I'm gonna give it a spin. This is a brand new Irish band called Thirteen Doors (Xiii). And this is their first ever recording. it's a song called Lead The Way. Until next week see ya!."
