Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Sixty minutes we have to play you, in my humble opinion, some wonderful wonderful music. We're gonna start off this week with one of my favourite American groups of all time. This is Cheap Trick."

Cheap Trick

"I've seen them many times. I've toured with them many times. I consider them to be great friends of ours. A wonderful band. They really really are. In fact they toured with us in the States. They've toured with us in the UK. And I hope down the road to tour with them again one day. Absolutely stunning stuff. From a box set called Sex, America, Cheap Trick. That is of course Cheap Trick with Just Got Back."

Uriah Heep

"And I and the rest of the guys just got back ourselves from a month long stint in South America. Which kind of makes us a bit like Uriah Heep. Travellers In Time. Sorry about that."

"And before that we heard from the 2017 remastered version of the album Demons And Wizards. The wonderful Uriah Heep with Travellers In Time."

Be Bop Deluxe

"Now if my memory serves me correctly when Be Bop Deluxe issued their at the time current album in 1976, Sunburst Finish. Harvest Record to whom they were signed, released a little four track EP of their previous work. it was a common practice back in the mid 70s to do that. So new fans like myself could go and back track over their previous work. And you got your pocket money all of a sudden. You can have three of four Be Bop Deluxe albums. And the first track I ever heard from their debut album which just happens to be called Axe Victim. Was the one that we just heard. Jet Silver And The Dolls Of Venus. No doubt some kind of tip of the hat to David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust right there."

Mott

"Right talking of travelling let's take a trip to the South of France. This is Mott."

"And before that the band that Mott The Hoople became, because once Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson left the guys carried on with Nigel Benjamin and a new guitarist in Ray Majors. And just carried on under the name of Mott. Their debut album in 1975 was called Drive On. And the first single that they released from that album, which sadly was not a hit, was the track we just heard. Monte Carlo."

Bad Company

"I haven't played that band in an age. So I thought it's about time that I did. And I picked a song that's got a bit of a twist actually because that is Bad Company from their debut album back in 1974. The song written by Mick Ralphs. Originally recorded by Mott The Hoople on their 1972 album All The Young Dudes. The song is Ready For Love."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're off to the East Coast of the States to check in with Aerosmith."

Aerosmith

"And before that we heard Aerosmith from that wonderful album that is Nine Lives. With a beautiful bit of work called Hole In My Soul."

Led Zeppelin

"I saw them at Knebworth on that particular tour. They only played two tracks from their new album at the time. Carouselambra and Hot Dog I believe it was. So they didn't play the track we just heard which is in actual fact the Rough Mix of the song Fool In The Rain. It is Led Zeppelin from the album In Through The Out Door."

Black Star Riders

"Right coming at you from the wrong side of paradise. This is the Black Star Riders."

"And before that the Black Star Riders from their latest album The Wrong Side Of Paradise. It's a song featuring some fantastic harmonica playing. The track is Hustle."

Motley Crue

"Really looking forward to hooking up with the guys again 'cause they are such fun to tour with. Wonderful people. It is Motley Crue. Taken there from their Greatest Hits album. It's a song called Enslaved."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time.

"So until then I shall leave you with this. And I would like to dedicate this last song to my producer for the last five years Andy Thomas who is moving on to different things. Andy thank you for making me sound like a half decent presenter all this time. I wish you all the best. And this song is for you mate. From the album Too Much Too Soon. This is the New York Dolls and Stranded In the Jungle. Till next week see ya!."
