Show Intro

"Greetings music lovers welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Always a pleasure to be with you. We've got one hour, 60 minutes to play some, in my humble opinion, wonderful music. Here's a band I don't seem t have played for ages. This is Bad Company."

Bad Company

"I saw a couple of years ago what's probably gonna turn out to be one of the last gigs that Bad Company ever play because just a few weeks after I saw them at the 3Arena in Dublin Mick Ralphs had a stroke. And sadly he's in a hospice at the moment and I'm not really sure how he's doing. I haven't spoken to him in a couple of years. I do know that Ian Hunter and Paul Rodgers do keep an eye on him. I must find out and let you know. There from 1976 great memories of Bad Company from their third album Runnin' With The Pack. The song we just heard Sweet Little Sister."

The Kinks

"Right still waiting for news on their new album. Until then here's some classic Kinks."

"And before that we heard The Kinks. Now I say clasic Kinks. There's two types of Kinks. There's the 60s Kinks with things like You Really Got Me and All Day And All Of The Night. But then there's the 80s Kinks where they made a bit of a resurgence especially in America. And we just heard there from 1984's album Word Of Mouth. The opening track Do It Again."

Black Sabbath

"I have to say Tony Iommi's guitar sound has to be one of the meatiest, fattest, biggest guitar sounds ever committed to tape. What a sound that gentleman makes. There from 1974's Sabotage album we just heard Black Sabbath with Hole In The Sky."

Tom Petty

"Now this next artist would have been celebrating his 71st birthday this week. If he was still with us but sadly he isn't. But his music is. Here with his band The Heartbreakers is Tom Petty."

"And before that Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers from a box set called Wildflowers And All The Rest. It's like 75 tracks. Amazing and there's a documentary movie out at the moment which is well worth checking out I'm told. Not seen it myself. But I have spies out there that tell me it has to be seen. The song that we just heard from Tom Climb That Hill."

The Zombies

"We in Lepland often refer to that band as the British Beach Boys.because their vocal harmonies are absolutely to die for. Featuring on keyboards Mr. Rod Argent and fantastic vocals from Mr. Colin Bluntstone. Two people that joined Def Leppard on stage for the ceremony for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame back in 2019. Were originally in a band called The Zombies. And there from the 30th anniversary re-release of the album Odd and Oracle and if haven't heard it go out and get it. It's a fantastic record. The song we heard A Rose For Emily."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up Mick Ronson."

Mick Ronson

"And before that Mick Ronson recorded in about 19876 up in Bearsville in New York. Very popular area of the world for musicians to record in. But it didn't see the light of day until the late 90s. The album is Just Like This. The song I'd Give Anything To See You."

Wishbone Ash

"What a great album that is and arguably their most popular piece of work. It is Wishbone Ash from the 1972 album Argus with Blowin' Free."

Be Bop Deluxe

"Right a couple of great live tracks coming up for you right now. Starting off with a track from the recently re-released live album. Which only features 15 discs this time. This is Be Bop Deluxe."

"And before that expanded even further Be Bop Deluxe's re-release of Live In The is a 15 discs box set. 15 CDs. One DVD. And they recorded just about everything. They recorded in Leicester, London, Leeds. Bournemouth and Bristol. I saw them in Sheffield. They didn't record the Sheffield gig so I'm guessing that the Rolling Stones mobile broke down on the way over the Pennines. What a sad state of affairs. The song that we just heard Forbidden Lovers."

UFO

"Wonderful stuff there from UFO's legendary 1978 live album Strangers In The Night. Which itself has been expanded to about 7 or 8 discs. The song we just heard Mother Mary."

Live

"Right time to throw some Copper. This is Live."

"And before that Live what a great band. They opened for Def Leppard in Australia about four years ago. The album that we just heard the song from is Throwing Copper. The song itself I Alone.

Wreckless Eric

"When one of my close friends got hitched a few years ago this gentleman we just heard was actually the wedding singer. I've always fancied doing this song. And I loved it since I first heard it. Love him. Him being Wreckless Eric. The song being The Whole Wide World. Taken from a great collection called Cash From Chaos 3."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. But hey you already know that. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial."

"Until then let's go back to boomtown. Yes this is in fact The Boomtown Rats with She's So Modern. Until next week see ya!."
