Show Intro

"Evening all and all welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. And I'm on a break. We've got two weeks off before our next gig in early August in Boston. In fact we've got two nights in Fenway Park coming up but not for a couple of weeks. So I'm happy to say the first leg of the tour was an absolute raging success. And we can't want to get back to it. But I'm gonna enjoy this break and hopefully you're gonna enjoy this show. Which this week starts off with KISS."

KISS

"You know despite his undoubted love for the likes of Led Zeppelin, Rush and the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. That was one of Steve Clark's favourite ever songs. It is KISS from the album Unmasked with Is That You?."

Ghost

"Now if you're a regular listener to my show you'll know that at the end of every year I do a best of the year show. Without doubt this band will feature in the best of 2022. This is Ghost."

"And before that Ghost from this fantastic album that is Impera with Kaisarion."

White Lies

"They too will probably feature in the best of 2022 as well because I really love this album. It is a band called White Lies. We just heard the title track of said album. As I Try Not To Fall Apart."

Note - The song As I Try Not To Fall Apart was not played as Joe said after. It was the song Am I Really Going To Die? which was a single and the video for both songs are on YouTube, and both very good. (As is the song Blue Drift which Joe has also played)."

Fleetwood Mac

"Now I've always been a fan of mad crazy drumming going all the way back to Cozy Powell, Barundi Black, John Kongos all the way through to Def Leppard stuff like Rocket and Undefeated. here's another one to add to the list. This is Fleetwood Mac."

"And before that we heard Fleetwood Mac with some of that crazy drumming that I love so much. Bringing Mick Fleetwood to the forefront on that one. It is the title track of the album Tusk."

Ian Danter

"That ladies and gentleman is a very very cool song indeed. And it comes from occasional some time presenter for Planet Rock Mr. Ian Danter. From his brand new album Rule Of Three. Lovely bit of work called Landscapes."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show pn the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're off to the dentist with Alice Cooper."

Alice Cooper

"And before that my goodness. the sound of that tooth coming out. It still gives me the shivers. It's Alice Cooper from the album Billion Dollar Babies with Unfinished Sweet."

Aerosmith

"There are essentially two Aerosmith's. There's the pre-MTV Aerosmith. And the post-MTV Aerosmith. Now as much as much as I'll be the first to say their early work '73 to '79. There's some incredible work. Hand on heart my favourite Aerosmith is from 1987 onwards. And that is a great example. From the album Nine Lives Hole In My Soul."

Groundhogs

"Now you may remember a couple of weeks ago I was telling everyone how I was burning old cassettes to MP3. Here's another one that I found. Many many years ago. This one I actually did decades back. I found this on a cassette sampler that came out on Polygram records in 1979. Featuring the likes of Thin Lizzy and Status Quo and Bachman Turner Overdrive and Black Sabbath. And this is a band that at the time I'd never heard of. But I really fell in love with this song. This is the Groundhogs."

"And before that the Groundhogs. As I said I found it on a sampler cassette. Fell in love with it and still love it to this day. It is from an album called Solid Gold. The song the Sins Of The Father."

Roxy Music

"Roxy Music there with a standalone single for them back in 1973. These days you can find it on other compilations, best ofs and the box set that came out. It is Pyjamarama."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, in this break on the tour, is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week from exactly the same spot, 'cause I'll still be on a break."

"So until then I shall leave you with this. From their debut album back in 1973. The eponymously titled New York Dolls with Trash. Till next week see ya!."
