Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Always a pleasure to be with you. We've got sixty minutes to plow through some amazing music. So let's crash straight into the show shall we with Aerosmith."

Aerosmith

"From the 1997 album that is Nine Lives. That is the mighty Aerosmith there with Crash."

Wayward Sons

"Now showing that there is maybe a light at the end of the tunnel. This next band have played a few shows and guess what. They've got some more lined up. Here from their latest and greatest arguably, are the Wayward Sons."

"And before that the Wayward Sons from the latest and arguably greatest album. Some fantastic songs on this album. The album is Even Up The Score. The song that we heard Land Of The Blind."

The Babys

"Believe it or not that band actually originated in Manchester. But they relocated to the States. They went to Los Angeles to seek their fame and fortune which they almost did. But it didn't quite work out. They seemed to be the perpetual opening act for Journey on many tours in the mid to late 70s. Only once they split up did we start discovering that a couple of members of the band joined the Rod Stewart group. And the singer of course John Waite went on to have some pretty substantial solo success. But there The Babys with the single edit of the title track of their album Head First."

Lone Star

"Right let's head over to Wales. This is Lone Star."

"And before that Lone Star from 1977. Their second album but the one and only album to feature the phenomenal vocals on one Mr. Jon Sloman. The album is Firing On All Six. The song we heard Time Lays Down."

Whitesnake

"Wow I can't believe that that album is ten years old. We toured with Whitesnake when they were promoting that particular album. Where did the time go. It is Whitesnake. The album is Forvermore. The song Whipping Boy Blues."

"You're listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up crisis?. Nah. There's never a crisis with Supertramp."

Supertramp

"And before that we heard Supertramp from their 1975 classic album Crisis What Crisis with the hit single Lady."

Hawkwind

"Just thinking about people abbreviating bands names. Like we become the Leps. Whitesnake become the Snake. So Supertramp become the Tramp. So do Hawkwind become the Wind. Or the Hawks. Either way what a great song. It is from the album Hawkwind. It is of course the band Hawkwind with Hurry On Sundown."

UFO

"Well if Supertramp though they may have a crisis. This band apparently had an obsession. It's UFO."

"And before tha UFO from 1978. The album is Obsession and what an album. the song we heard Pack It Up And Go."

The Move

"Bit of a strange history to that song. it was recorded by ELO and sung of course by one Mr. Jeff Lynne. But the version you've just heard there also sung by Jeff Lynne is by The Move because very briefly Jeff Lynne was a member of The Move with Roy Wood and co. Before Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne would leave The Move to form the Electric Light Orchestra. Rerecorded that song. And then what would happen. Roy Wood would leave ELO to form Wizzard. You couldn't make it up. The song is Do Ya."

Van Halen

"Right here with the best impersonation of a tooth brush in action that I've ever heard is Van Halen."

"And before that Van Halen from their debut album with the Atomic Punk."

Uriah Heep

"They're never quite thought of in the same brackets as the Zeppelin's or the Purple's or the Sabbath's of this world but boy they had their moments didn't they. That is Urish Heep from the deluxe edition of Demons And Wizards with Easy Livin'."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. But you know that already didn't you. We will be back together again next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial."

"And until then let's go out having just heard the Atomic Punk. Let's go out with some what you might call classic authentic UK punk. From the album Black Market Clash. This is indeed The Clash with City Of The Dead. Until next week see ya!."
