Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful planet rock. Always a pleasure to be with you. I've got 60 minutes, one solid hour to play you some music which has tickled my DNA for many a year. We're going to start this particular show off with Buck Cherry."

Buckcherry

"I went to see those guys with Phil at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles about 25 years ago when they just started. The album came out, it had been produced by Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols that we were hanging out with at the time and we thought we'd seen the future. They were absolutely amazing, didn't quite pan out that way. They're still going, they're still making some great music but boy, did they make an impact when they first started out. From their debut album, as I said, produced by Sex Pistol, Steve Jones back in 1999, we just heard the song Dead Again."

Heavy Metal Kids

"Right, here's a band that I saw at the Sheffield top rank and my God, could they put on a show? This is the Heavy Metal Kids."

"And before that we heard the Heavy Metal Kids who I saw at the top rank in 76 or 77 I think it was and Gary Halton, what a front man he was. They were an absolutely amazing band. I had the pleasure of getting up on stage with them at the, Fulham Greyhound I think it was about 2008 to do the song She's No Angel but from the preceding album to Kitsch we just heard from the album Anvil Chorus, wonderful bit of work, called Crisis."

Dirty Tricks

"Yet another band that I saw live but I have to confess, they were the opening act for somebody at the City Hall in Sheffield and I cannot remember who it was. It might have been Budgie, I'm not sure, I saw Budgie a few times and I saw them with Nuts as special guests but no matter what, I saw this band and I absolutely fell in love with them from their third album. We just heard the title track Night Man, It Is Dirty Tricks."

Ian Hunter

"Right, well he packed his bags in the land of rags and off he went and didn't he do well? He is Ian Hunter."

"And before that Ian Hunter with the title track of his second album from 1976, wonderful tale, All American Alien Boy."

Family

"I never saw Family Live a little bit before my time but I did see Chapman and Whitney in Street Walkers but I was always a fan of Family especially after I heard the hit singles In My Own Time and Burlesque but I always loved that song, it's taken from The Best of Family and Friends, It Is My Friend The Sun."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the Wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're going to hold a mirror to the sky with Yes."

Yes

"And before that from the latest album by Yes called Mirror To The Sky we heard the song Cut From The Stars."

The Rolling Stones

"Keeping the sky theme going there, that's The Rolling Stones from their latest and greatest almost. It is a magnificent album Hackney Diamonds, we just heard the beautiful Dreamy Skies."

The Clash

"Well they wanted it and for a little while they absolutely got it, this is The Clash,"

"And before that we heard The Clash from their debut album in 1976 with Complete Control."

Roxy Music

"The opening number of their magnificent third album from back in 1973, that is Roxy Music with a song called Street Life, once covered actually by Def Leppard on the 2006 covers album YEAH!."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week, it's been a real pleasure as always, I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then I shall leave you with this wonderful bit of fun, two and a half minutes worth, from Wakefield in Yorkshire, they were the boss band, they were Be Bop Deluxe from the album Futurama, this is Made In Heaven. Till next week, see ya."
