Show Intro

"Watcha mates. Welcome once again to The Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Can I just start off this week by saying thank you so much for all those congratulatory emails that I received all week regarding show number 600. Here's to the nest 600. Starting off with a band that were an absolute breath of fresh air when we hard them for the first time in 1978. This is Van Halen."

Van Halen

"Yes they really were something else weren't they. They had a fantastic rhythm section in Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony. The frontman David Lee Roth what can you say about David Lee Roth. What a character. And of course the guitar playing. He completely reinvented the way that guitarists played. Specifically the lead guitar. He was of course Eddie Van Halen. And the band Van Halen from their debut album back in 1978 with On Fire."

UFO

"So from one fantastic guitarist to another. All the way from California we're heading off to Germany. Kinda via London. This is UFO."

"And before that UFO from 1976. The album is No Heavy Pettin'. The song we heard, the opening track, Natural Thing."

Utopia

"Magnificent stuff there from Todd Rundgren's Utopia. 1977's Ra is the album. The song we heard Magic Dragon Theatre."

Pat Travers

"Now here with a very heartfelt lament from one brother to another is Pat Travers."

"And before that Pat Travers taken from his second solo album back in 1977. The album is Makin' Magic. The song we heard Stevie."

Tesla

"That is Tesla taken from their best of collection Times Makin' Changes with a beautiful bit of work called Love Song."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up Genesis and from a very aptly titled album considering the weather."

Genesis

"Before that we heard Genesis from the very aptly titled Wind And Wuthering album. And yes I do hope that all your fences are still up. Your roofs are still on. Your cars are still the right way up and your satellite dish is still attached to the wall because boy is it blustery out there. The song that we just heard Eleventh Earl Of Mar."

Jethro Tull

"Now if you're a fan of Jethro Tull I think you're gonna love this new album. It's a great bit of work. It is called The Zealot Gene. And we just heard the title track from said album."

David Bowie

"So moving away from a bit of prog to a more rock and roll drum and bass. Yes, you couldn't make it up. This is David Bowie."

"And before that David Bowie from the album Earthling with the censored video edit. Over missus. Of the opening track Little Wonder."

Roxy Music

"From that beautiful album that is Country Life that is Roxy Music with a hit single for them back in 1973. All I Want Is You."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial. Where else would you wanna be."

"Let's go out on this from mine and Keith Richard's favourite AC/DV album Powerage. This is Up To My Neck In You. Until next week see ya!."
