Show Intro

"Evening all welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Always a pleasure. We have as you well know 60 minutes, one hour, to play you some wonderful music. And right here on the Joe Elliott rock show we're gonna start it off with Paul McCartney And Wings."

Paul McCartney And Wings

"So I just recently started watching the documentary series that's Paul McCartney talking to Rick Rubin. What a wonderful insight you get from that man's work ethic. Fantastic talent. Even all these years later. Wonderful stuff. Paul McCartney with his band Wings there from 1975 with Venus And Mars/Rock Show."

The Struts

"Now here doing there impersonation of Girl covering KISS are The Struts."

"And before that The Struts from their latest album Strange Days with their take on a KISS song that was actually the arrangement that Girl had done. Phil Collen of course, Def Leppard's guitarist was in Girl at the time. And their version is slightly different to KISS's version. And that's the version that The Struts decided to cover. It is Do You Love Me."

Queen

"It's an often overlooked album but in my opinion it's right up there with some of their greatest work. It is from 1978. It is Queen. The album is Jazz. The song Let Me Entertain You."

KISS

"So from a cover of one of their songs tp the actual band themselves. This is KISS."

"And before that from 1976 from their epic album Destroyer. We heard KISS with Great Expectations."

The Stranglers

"Now if you're a fan of the band The Stranglers you're gonna love this new album that came out just a couple of days ago. It's a really good bit of work. Yes of course we all know that Hugh Cornwell is no longer with the band and hasn't been for many many years. Jet Black has retired and sadly Dave Greenfield in the middle of recording this album passed away because of COVID. But he is featured on the album. He's also paid tribute to on this album with a song JJ wrote. He's still in the band. The song is called And If You Should See Dave which is a great bit of work. The album is Dark Matters well worth checking out."

"You're listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're gonna take a little trip with The Kinks and their good friend Arthur to Shangri-La."

The Kinks

"And before that The Kinks from the Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) we heard the magnificent Shangri-La."

The Quireboys

"From this year's re-record of their 1990 debut album A Little Bit Of What You Fancy. That is The Quireboys with Hey You. Crowd favourite that one."

Klubber Lang

"This is literally hot off the press. Released yesterday. If you've ever wondered what Ronan McHugh Def Leppard's sound guru gets up to when he's not working on new or old Def Leppard music. He's playing keyboards and mixing this crowd. This is Klubber Lang."

"And before that brand new. Brand spanking new Klubber Lang featuring .Def Leppard's own sound guy Ronan McHugh on keyboards with a song called I Will Not Wait."

VEGA

"In my humble opinion it is the best work they've done to date. That is VEGA from this year's album Anarchy In Unity with Ain't Who I Am."

Sex Pistols

"So as VEGA give us Anarchy In Unity. This lot give us a slightly different anarchy. This is the Sex Pistols."

"And before that the Sex Pistols from their one and only proper album Never Mind The Bollocks...Here's The Sex Pistols with Anarchy In The UK.

The Clash

"Both bands led the way. One imploded. The other one kept going for quite a while. That is the band that kept going for quite a while. It is The Clash from the album Super Black Market Clash. Which was a kind of compilation I suppose. With Jail Guitar Doors."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I'll be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then let's keep things punky, New Wave, with the godfather of punk. It is Iggy Pop from the Bowie Years Collection with Lust For Life. Until next week see ya!."
