Show Intro

"Greetings my fellow music lovers and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott right here on the fantastic Planet Rock. What have we got lined up tonight?. Well there's only a few days to Christmas. I'm not gonna do a Christmas show this week. I#m just gonna do a normal one. How many times can you play Slade and Wizzard and whatever. No, no. Just some great music, like what we're gonna have tonight. So let's get started with the gospel according to Steven Tyler."

Aerosmith

"From their biggest selling album worldwide ever 22 years after they formed. There's hope for us all. That is Aerosmith from 1993. The album is Get A Grip. The song that we heard, the opening track Eat The Rich."

Boston

"And from one massive selling American band to another. This is Boston."

"And before that Boston who themselves were no slouches when it came to selling records. From their eponymously titled album. From the same year 1976 we just heard Peace Of Mind."

KISS

"And yet another American band that have sold gazillions of records. That is KISS from the 45th anniversary super deluxe version of their 1976 opus Destroyer. It's a fantastic collection. It's a 4 CD box set. I think there's about 75 unreleased tracks. Which is young know various demos, alternative versions, live versions. A superb accompanying book that goes with it. Well worth asking Santa for a copy of this. The song that we just heard Flaming Youth."

The Who

"Right then back over to this side of the big pond for one of the most important and creative rock bands of all time. This is The Who."

"Before that we heard The Who. From an album that at the time was considered to be their last ever studio album. They have of course since ben in the studio at least twice and put new music out. Toured quite a lot. The album that they did release in 1982 Face Dances. Featured the song we just heard which has been in their set ever since. The track is You Better, You Bet."

UFO

"So when what is considered the classic line-up of UFO reformed back in 1995. That's Phil Mogg, Andy Parker, Pete Way, Michael Schenker and Paul Raymond. When they were offered a record deal one can only surmise that the small print said we want you to re-record a couple of your classic tracks as bonus material and that's exactly what they did. They re-recorded Lights Out. And they also re-recorded a song that originally featured on their album Phenomenon. The song Doctor, Doctor. And not a bad re-record it is either."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up Paul McCartney gets all apologetic with one of his relatives on some classic Ram."

Paul McCartney

"And before that Paul McCartney from the deluxe version of the album Ram with Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey."

Ronnie Wood

"Featuring yours truly on backing vocals would you believe. Recorded just as Def Leppard had finished the Adrenalize album. And I went over to visit Ronnie Wood, for it is he that we just heard. He just had his studio built based on the plans for my particular studio. Same people that built his built mine. And he recorded his first solo album in many a year. The album is Slide On This. The song that we just heard Josephine."

Thunder

"Now here's a band that features one of the greatest unsung blues vocalists of our time. And the guitarist is not bad either. By the way the singer is also a presenter on this radio station. This is Thunder."

"And before that Thunder featuring some fantastic guitar work from Luke Morley and obviously superb vocals from my fellow presenter Danny Bowes. The title track of their 1990 album Backstreet Symphony."

Blue Oyster Cult

"I have to say that when heard in the environment like say a big arena. The main riff of that song is one of the most imposing things that you will ever hear. Fantastic stuff from Blue Oyster Cult. It's from the lie album Some Enchanted Evening. The absolutely insane version of Godzilla."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. But you know that already. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then I'm off to go and help decorate the tree. I shall leave you with this. From 1976 and I've no doubt this is how I'm gonna feel when it's all over and done with. This is the Heavy Metal Kids and Delirious. Until next week see ya!."
