Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Glad to say I'm back in fine voice once ain this week. We have some fantastic music lined up for you today. Sixty minutes, one hour of some wonderful wonderful tunes. Starting of with, and he's on tour all over the UK right now, Ricky Warwick."

Ricky Warwick

"Richard of the Warwick right there. As I said on tour all over the UK right now. He's still got about 14 or 15 shows left to play and he's been here quite a while. Richard too has been suffering with a bit of a throat alliment but I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he's in fine form. It's all back to normal. Pesky colds in that pesky winter period. What can we do, really jusr ride them out. That is Ricky from his 2019 solo album When Life Was Hard with the wonderful tune called, get this, I'd Rather Be Hit By A Man Than Hurt By A Woman. Wouldn't we all."

Jim Wilson

"Now he's a gentleman that I met for the first time in 2008 when he was moonlighting as a guitarist for Sparks. He was once in a band called Mother Superior. And he's got a fantastic band called Motor Sister. But here he is out on his own. This is Jim Wilson."

"And before that Jim Wilson who I did say at the time was out on his own. But he's actually with a couple of mates of his. A gentleman called Phil Jones and also Elliott Easton once of The Cars. It's a brand new single and it is called The Sun Ain't Coming Out Today."

Rick Springfield

"I really ove that song. It's just a great bit of work. it is believe it or not Rick Springfield from an album called Venus In Overdrive. A song all about the senseless killing of John Lennon. It is called 3 Warning Shots."

The Polyphonic Spree

"So after those two not so cheery subject matters here's something to lighten the mood a little bit. This is the Polyphonic Spree."

"And before that we heard The Polyphonic Spree. From an album called The Fragile Army. The song we heard Section 22 (Running Away)."

Hedwig And The Angry inch

"That for me has to be one of the greatest pastiches, tributes to or soundalikes of a David Bowie song that I have ever heard. It comes from the original soundtrack of a fantastic movie called Hedwig And The Angry inch. One of the greatest rock fims ever made. If somewhat slightly bizarre. The song is Midnight Radio."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up two really cool live tracks."

Peter Frampton

"And before that we heard Peter Frampton from one of the biggest selling ive albums of all time way back in 1976. The album is Frampton Comes Alive. The song we heard, the opening track, Something's Happening."

Deep Purple

"Wow isn't that great. That is Deep Purple live in Newcastle. It's actually live in Newcastle, New South Wales in Australia. It is from 29001. It's the Soundboard series collection of releases. It's a great live version of Woman From Tokyo."

Muse

"Well there's an uprising but there's no need to put up a resistance because it's Muse."

"And before that we heard Muse. Ironically from the album Resistance with Uprising."

Cheap Trick

"Yeah don#t you sometimes wish that you actually were living in another world because of the way it's been for the last couple of years. And the way things are panning out in certain areas of the world right now. And there's Cheap Trick reminding us and telling us exactly how it is. It's from their brand new album In Another World. It's the sort of title track because there's actually a speeded up version of the same song at the end of the record. Great bit of work."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then I shall leave you with this. And this ties in quite nicely with the last couple of tracks. I discovered this song on an old cassette sampler released by Mercury Records way back when. And it's quite probably the only track I've ever heard from this band. So I need to do a bit more research 'cause I really like this song. The band are The Groundhogs. It's from an album called Solid Gold. And this song is called Sins Of The Father. Until next week see ya!."
