Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Always a pleasure to be with you. Got about sixty minutes to play you some amazing stuff. Let's get this week's show started shall we. This is UFO."

UFO

"Such an amazing band live. A huge influence on a fledgling Def Leppard. That is UFO from 1976. The album is No Heavy Pettin'. It's the opening track Natural Thing."

Sherbet

"Right then let's head off down under shall we all the way to Australia. Two bands here with very contrasting styles. Starting off with Sherbet."

"And before that a band called Sherbet that I know very little about other than the fact that they're from Australia. And they wrote a song that's actually not about Cricket at all. But it is Howzat."

AC/DC

"I remember when Def Leppard first started working with Mutt Lange back in 1981 on the High 'n' Dry album. We would often take breaks and discuss his past works and of course that album came up quite a lot. That album is Highway To Hell. And the surprising thing is that AC/DC didn't really like that song very much. Which surprised me 'cause for my ears it's one of the best tracks on the album. It is as I said Highway To Hell. The song Touch Too Much."

Ian Hunter

"OK right over to the governor. This is Ian Hunter."

"And before that Ian Hunter from the album When I'm President with a beautiful bit of work called Black Tears."

"Heard that song a couple of weeks ago and it's been in my head ever since. And I just can't get it out of my head. And I just had to share. It is War who once had in their ranks the singer Eric Burdon who was of course the front man for The Animals back in the mid sixties. The album is called Why Can't We Be Friends. The song the absolutely legendary Low Rider."

"Right coming up it's time to Use Your Illusion with GNR."

Guns N' Roses

"And before that we heard Guns N' Roses from the album Use Your Illusion I. A song that Def Leppard used to walk on stage to back 1992 on the Adrenalize tour because at 10 minutes and 14 seconds it was a great warning to be ready to go. And trust me as soon as they screamed out the name of that song we were. That song is Coma."

David Bowie

"From the recently released compilation Width Of A Circle that is David Bowie. It's a great album. Got some uber rare material on it. Some long lost radio sessions. Some great demos that I've never heard before. And trust me I've heard a lot of David Bowie stuff. But it also features some great Tony Visconti remixes. One we just heard. The song originally released in 1970 would feature again three years later on the Aladdin Same album but a lot faster and with a lot more Mick Ronson on it. That version that we just heard features Marc Bolan from T. Rex on lead guitar. The song is Prettiest Star."

Kiki Dee Band

"OK right now over to one of the greatest British female singers of all time. This is Kiki Dee."

"And before that Kiki Dee. As I said before one of the greatest female singers of all time. With a song that's also the title track of her 1974 album I've Got The Music In Me."

The Who

"Without question one of the greatest bands to ever break out of the UK. Yes we all know we had The Rolling Stones, and we had The Beatles and many other wonderful bands. But there is absolutely no denying the supreme quality of the song writing of one Mr. Pete Townshend and the fantastic vocals of Roger Daltrey. The insane drumm9ng of one Mr. Keith Moon and the very eccentric noises that came out of John Entwistle's Rickenbaker bass. Put it altogether and you get The Who. And there from their super deluxe version of the album The Who Sell Out. It's the mono mix of their hit single I Can See For Miles."

Show Outro

"Well hopefully we've all got the music in us. I certainly have that's why I enjoy doing this show so much. But that is about it for this week folks. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then I shall leave you with this. Something very raucous and why not. Back in 1976 it was a standalone single. These days it can be found as a bonus track on the album Kitsch. It is the Heavy Metal Kids with Delirious. Until next week see ya!."
