JOE ELLIOTT Confirms DEF LEPPARD To Bring THE STADIUM TOUR To The UK In 2023

Def Leppard 2022. Def Leppard 2022

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has confirmed The Stadium Tour will head to the UK in 2023.

The Stadium Tour is scheduled to start on 16th June in Atlanta, GA.

Last week Joe hinted at the tour heading to the UK on his weekly Planet Rock radio show.

It was unclear if he meant an arena tour or The Stadium Tour itself (which kicks off in 80 days).

In a new interview with Rolling Stone Joe has seemingly confirmed he was indeed talking about The Stadium Tour coming to the UK in 2023.

This would mark the band's first UK shows since the 2018 Hysteria tour and the 2019 Download Festival headline show.

With the new 'Diamond Star Halos' album due out in late May it seems likely the tour may be announced and dates confirmed at that time.

The December 2018 tour was announced in January of the same year giving almost a full 12 months of ticket on sale time.

As for when the UK/Irish (and European) shows would happen it seems unlikely any outdoor shows would take place before at least May.

As for possible venues (in London at least) Wembley Stadium and London Stadium would seem the most likely.

The new Wembley Stadium was previously played (minus Vivian) in September 2014 when a medley was performed ahead of an NFL International Series game.

The Stadium Tour 2023 In The UK

Joe mentioned that the tour could last up to three years and will travel "worldwide".

Almost certainly a reference to his words last week when speaking about UK shows.

The only previous headline show in a UK stadium was of course in June 1993 at the now demolished Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield.

Def Leppard played a co-headline tour in arenas with Motley Crue in December 2011 but have not previously toured here with Poison or Joan Jett.

3 Year Tour

The article states that the tour will last three years.

This suggests that more stadiums will be played in North America in 2024 and possibly also in 2023 alongside the UK dates.

Worldwide Stadium Tour

Joe also mentioned they would take the tour around the world which suggests dates in Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand could also be in the pipeline.

All of which were last visited in 2018/2019.
