Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has been interviwed about the new Diamond Star Halos album and its special guest vocalist.

'Diamond Star Halos' is the band's 12th studio album.

As announced on 17h March it will be released on Friday 27th May 2022.

Joe and Phil (along with Sav) spoke to USA Today and talked about how the new album sessions started and developed during the pandemic, working with Alison Krauss and the overall theme of the album.

Joe spoke about how the band came to work with bluegrass-country singer Alison Krauss.

Alison contributes vocals to two songs on the new album:

Alison Krauss Songs

These are 'This Guitar' - a song written by Joe which dates back 17 years and is a duet.

The other is 'Lifeless' which appears to be an original song that dates back to perhaps the 'Euphoria' era or just uses the same title used previously on a different song.

On this track Alison appears to have contributed extra vocals rather that being a full duet - based on the descriptions within the article.

Interestingly (or not) 'This Guitar' also features use of a pedal steel guitar used on many Country songs which indicates Def Leppard going into Alison Krauss' usual style of song rather than the other way around.
