DEF LEPPARD Film First Performance Since 2019 In ENGLAND For New Movie (Photos)

Def Leppard 2022. Def Leppard 2022

Def Leppard returned to the UK last weekend to film a live performance appearance in an upcoming UK based movie.

The footage was shot in a film studio in Burnley, England last weekend.

The film titled 'The Bank Of Dave' is based on the life of businessman David Fishwick from Burnley and the opening of his bank Burnley Savings & Loans Ltd.

It features Rory Kinnear (son of Roy from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory...) playing the role of David along with Phoebe Dynevor and Joel Fry.

The timing of this appearance may explain why Rick moved his art exhibitions to next weekend as he was scheduled to be in Florida on the same day as filming.

The band performed an unknown number of songs on Saturday 5th March.

They pretended to be performing an outdoor concert using a typical outdoor festival style stage that was actually located inside a large film studio (as seen in the pics if you look closely).

The usual concert video screen was set up behind Rick's drum kit.

Given the film is said to be a romantic comedy it's difficult to see the band taking any major role in the film other than short performance clips.

The film is a comedy drama so theme there may be some clue as to why there is a guy standing near Joe and Phil on the stage. The person looks to be Rory Kinnear, the star of the film, wearing a business suit and holding his arms up.

View two photos from the set below as posted by Tempo Productions including a stage close up view.

The film is expected to be released later in 2022.

Shooting work on the movie is based in Burnley and Leeds and began on 28th February 2022.

NetFlix UK have the rights to show the film upon its release.

First Band Performance Since 2019

Other than the virtual appearance filmed separateley for the A Bowie Celebration show on 8th January this was the first time the five band members had played together on stage since November 2019 in Sacramento, CA.

The last full live show took place on 19th November 2019 in Sacramento, CA.

The next scheduled show is the first date of The Stadium Tour in Atlanta, GA which is now 96 days away.

The last performance in the UK was the Download Festival headline show on 14th June 2019 when the 'Hysteria' album was played in full once again.

First Movie Appearance

This will be the band's first appearance in a movie having previously had their music used in films like Last Action Hero and California Man (Encino Man) as well as Tom Cruise singing 'PSSOM' and 'Rock Of Ages' in 2012's 'Rock Of Ages'.

Joe was asked to appear as an actor in the 1995 film 'When Saturday Comes' which was shot in Sheffield.

His work on 'Slang' prevented this but he did record two original songs for the film including the title track. His first ever songs released as a solo artist even though they featured both Phil and Sav.
