DEF LEPPARD To Livestream One Night Only Show At The Leadmill In Sheffield

Def Leppard have just announced a new On Night Only show at The Leadmill in Sheffield for 19th May that will be livestreamed.

The World Tour 2023 began in Mexico City on 18th February.

The World Tour 2023 was first announced in October 2022 with Motley Crue.

Intimate Sheffield Show

Today the band have confirmed a new intimate show at the 900 capacity The Leadmill venue in Sheffield, England.

A one night only show which is being played to help the struggling venue raise funds needed to keep it open.

The show takes place on Friday 19th May on the same day the 'Drastic Symphonies' album is released.

It comes three days before their massive homecoming show at Bramall Lane on 22nd May.

Live Stream

The one hour concert will be live streamed from 9pm to 10pm on 19th May as it happens via the Veeps website.

UK tickets for this live stream go on sale from 13th May (Ticket price for the live stream not yet specified).

Tickets for the concert itself go on sale from 12th May at 9am and are priced at 65 pounds from The Leadmill website only.

Smallest UK Gig Since 2008

This will be the band's smallest UK show since the May 2008 Islington Academy show in London which launched the Sparkle Lounge album before 800 fans.

The smallest show in Sheffield since the November 1996 acoustic performance at Virgin Records and the previous year's acoustic concert at The Wapentake.

The last full electric show to be played in Sheffield of comparable size was on 26th June 1979 at the 500 capacity Crookes Workingmen's Club which was also played earlier in the same month for the first time.

Unique Setlist

The band's own press release mentions a "unique setlist" for this show.

This could include songs on the tracklist for the 'Drastic Symphonies' album.

Many of these songs have been played in recent years including in Las Vegas like 'Too Late For Love', 'Paper Sun' and 'Have You Ever...' while others are less likely and unplayed since 1996 like 'Turn To Dust'.

'Gods Of War' was also played on the 2018 'Hysteria & More' tour.

Def Leppard is coming home! On the eve of the bands biggest ever European tour and the launch of new album, “Drastic Symphonies”, Def Leppard will be streaming live from the iconic Sheffield venue, The Leadmill. This 60-minute set will be the most intimate show the band have played in the UK or Europe in 35 years, as fans will get the get the chance to hear the bands extraordinary stadium style catalogue in a special club setting.

The band are looking to shine a light on The Leadmill, a vital part of the Sheffield and national UK music scene, and is amongst many of the small UK music venues threatened with closure. Net proceeds from ticket sales from The Leadmill show will be donated to Music Venue Trust who diligently work to help struggling UK music venues.

For fans in the UK, live stream tickets will be available from 13 May.
