Def Leppard will be featured in an upcoming repeat of the 1994 BBC Top Of The Pops special on BBC Four TV in the UK.

Top Of The Pops celebrated its 30th anniversary in 1994 and a special 50 minute show was broadcast.

Guest presented by comedians Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse as their DJ characters Smashie and Nicey.

The show included various clips from the 30 years of the show with Def Leppard included.

These are the performance of 'Let's Get Rocked' - the only four-man line-up performance by the band, and a clip of the 'Animal' video.

The show is broadcast again for the first time since January 1994 on BBC Four TV on Friday 6th January at 7pm and then repeated at 11:35pm on the same day.

6th January 2023 Update

What no Def Leppard?

Def Leppard TOTP.

So if you tuned in you will have noticed Def Leppard were not in fact featured in this show.

Why did I think they were? - see above screenshot from the BBC TOTP Archive site in 2003 which listed all appearances.

LGR and Animal were listed for 4th January 1994 and all other info on the list was correct from 1987 to 2002.

If you watched you will have noticed some editing done to remove old (now disgraced DJs) and editing in of info and clips from later in 1994 and up to 2000.

The original 1994 episode as it turns out is on YouTube in the original form but also does not feature Def Leppard.

The 20th January 1994 episode due on 20th January definitely does feature Joe as co-host.

The original 'Let's Get Rocked' episode from March 1992 was not featured in the ongoing repeats of original episodes by BBC Four TV.

'Pour Some Sugar On Me' was also skipped with the 'Animal', 'Rocket', 'Make Love Like A Man' and 'Heaven Is' episodes all repeated in the last couple of years.

'Let's Get Rocked' and other TOTP performances were posted by the band to YouTube in 2018 and also on iTunes/Apple Music.
