Joe Elliott - Video Quotes - (Transcribed by dltourhistory)

"I had no idea who they were. But this four minute's worth of music...I was like hooked."

"This is a girl with an instrument on. So OK this is a game changer."

Fanny: The Right To Rock - Documentary Synopsis

"Sometime in the 1960s, in sunny Sacramento, two Filipina-American sisters got together to play music. Little did they know their garage rock band would evolve into the legendary Fanny, the first all-woman band to release an LP with a major record label. Despite recording a handful of albums and amassing a dedicated fan base that included music legend David Bowie, the band all but disappeared from the records of music history. This documentary not only tells the story of the band's rocking past, but also documents its next chapter: now in their 60s, the bandmates are recording a new album. The film includes interviews with a large cadre of music icons, including Bonnie Raitt, Def Leppard's Joe Elliott and the Go-Go's Kathy Valentine. Fighting early barriers of race, gender and sexuality in the music industry, the women of Fanny are ready to take their place in the halls of rock 'n' roll fame."

The Joe Elliott Show - 9th March 2019 Quote

"I shall be doing a little interview for a documentary on that band in a couple of weeks time when I get over to New York. They are Fanny. I was a fan ever since I first got their Flexi-Disc free in the NME for a song called Blind Alley. Great band, one of the first all female rock bands to ever really make a mark in the music industry. And that's from their album that came out last year having reformed. The album is called Fanny Walks The Earth. Which gives you a hint that the band are called Fanny. The song we just heard Lured Away."

The Joe Elliott Show - 30th March 2019 Quotes

"For a change absolutely nothing to do with the Hall Of Fame, but I did during this intense week of promo do an interview for a documentary that hopefully will come out later this year on the particular band. A band I discovered back in 1972 as a flexi-disc free single in the NME. The band are Fanny. That's an un-scratchy version because trust me my flexi-disc is no longer playable. From a collection called First Time In A Long Time the song Blind Alley."
