Def Leppard played another show on The World Tour 2023 last night in Dessel, Belgium with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the 50,000 capacity Festivalpark Stenehei.
The first show in this city since June 2019.
Another outdoor festival show.
Graspop Metal Meeting
From Hell to METAL.
A meeting of rock and metal and up to 50,000 fans in attendance at the festival site which like Hellfest is essentially just a large field.
A very late start for the band this time with the show time of 11:30pm.
They started and ended in darkness and did not get off stage until 1am local time.
One of the latest ever finishes to a show in Europe.
Two Stages
A stage set up not unlike the one in Hellfest was used with the two main stages built together.
This time Motley Crue closed a different stage playing on the North Stage on the left for the crowd watching.
Def Leppard closed on the right on the South Stage and again making use of all three massive side screens.
The first time on this tour, or in 2022, that they have played the same event but on a different stage.
The band's set was not broadcast on the festival's own Live Stream but was filmed and broadcast into some of the tents at the festival site (as seen during the Live Updates when someone briefly streamed the 'stream' from one of the screens).
Festival Line-Up/Udo Dirkschneider
Def Leppard headlined on the South Stage which featured five other bands.
Including Eclipse who also played at the Prague Rocks festival.
The band also had a reunion of sorts with Udo Dirkschneider, the most METAL singer ever (and now 71).
Udo was the lead singer of Accept in 1981 when they were also on the same bill supporting Judas Priest in Europe at the end of the High 'n' Dry tour.
Hollywood Vampires
As seen below the band hung out with various other bands before their show.
Including Hollywood Vampires featuring Alice Cooper and Joe Perry from Aerosmith.
Phil also no doubt saw his former Manraze band mate Paul Cook who was playing with Steve Jones and Billy Idol in Generation Sex.
17 Song Setlist
The same 17 song setlist played once more.
All three 'Diamond Star Halos' songs played in Belgium for the first time.
Dessel/Graspop History
The band fist played in Dessel and at Graspop in June 2006 on the Sparkle Lounge tour.
Playing on a bill before Whitesnake and headliners Judas Priest.
They returned in June 2019 with Whitesnake now playing before them and KISS closing after them.
Last night's show was their third appearance and first as headliners.
The next Def Leppard show takes place in Milan, Italy on 20th June which is the first non festival show after six in a row.
