Def Leppard have talked about the new Fire It Up promo video from Diamond Star Halos during the shoot in February.

'Diamond Star Halos' is the band's 12th studio album.

The first studio album since 2015 was announced on 17th March and released on Friday 27th May 2022.

'Fire It Up' was released as a single in April and the video premiered on 26th May.

The video was directed by Dylan Hayes and produced by Knucklehead.

The video shoot date has been revealed as 5th February three days before 'Kick' was filmed in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

This video was filmed at studios in Acton, London after a the photo shoot with Anton Corbijn used in the promotion for the new album when wearing their very "spiffing" suits.

The video shoot was the first time the band played together since November 2019.

Joe once again mentions the band are prepping for a "massive three years".

Something that he teased when talking to Classic Rock magazine recently. Believed to be a reference to the Stadium Tour lasting for three years as well as many potential upcoming releases which might include the cover of David Bowie's 'Heroes' now being played at live shows before the countdown ends.

Rick Savage - "We are somewhere even further west of London. I don't even know where the hell we are to be really honest. But we are in the make up dressing area for the shoot for Fire It Up. Which is going to be absolutely spiffing as you can see. Then we're going to a wedding."

Joe Elliott - "But I think it will look fantastic. As long as we don't set of an epileptic fit we should be alright 'cause. Yeah it's definitely like you've just done a big f**king magic mushroom omelette. And it's all, you know, I'm having visions. Psychedelic is what it is."

Phil Collen - "It's a Lava lamp type thing."

Joe Elliott - "Yes, yes. Yeah we're inside a square Lava lamp. It's very psychedelic."

Phil Collen - "Finally playing back together again it's f**king awesome yeah."

Joe Elliott - "We just finished shooting our first video for a song called Fire It Up. And it went really really well. We did a photo shoot this morning and then came straight over here. Shot a video and really happy with the results that we've seen so far. And that's only just the roughs. So when it's all been spliced and edited and all that lot it's gonna look amazing."

Rick Allen - "I'm glad it went so well. I'm really looking forward to the finished product. I think people are really gonna enjoy it, 'cause I did."

Phil Collen - "It was amazing. We haven't had an album out for years. So it's actually coming into a new stage. It's an absolutely kind of different thing. You know we#re a stadium band and we have a new album out. So the video reflects that I think ."

Joe Elliott - "Happy to report that we're back. We are working. And we are prepping for three massive years."
