Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Hope you're all well. Great to be with you once again. For 60 minutes of what in my humble opinion is some wonderful music."

"Gonna get the show started off with that one man gang that is Michael Monroe."

Michael Monroe

"I was considering starting the show off with Storm. Either the original by Mott or the version by the Down 'n' Outz considering that we've just had storm Dennis. That was preceded by Kira and now we're in the middle of, I believe it's pronounced Hor Hey 'cause the Spanish named this one. And between that and the Coronavirus and the stock market's crashing and sending us all back to he stone age by the looks of things I though that song that we just heard was more appropriate. It is Michael Monroe from his album One Man Gang with Junk Planet."

Cheap Trick

"Well we'll try and keep the doom and gloom on the back burner shall we. Here's a band that I haven't played for a while and I them to death. This is Cheap Trick."

"And before that we heard Cheap Trick from 12 years ago now. 2008 the album came out. It was called, It is called The Latest. It was their latest at the time. Luckily there's been a few since. The song we just heard, cover of an old Slade classic, When The Lights Go Out."

The Small Faces

"Now wasn't Steve Marriott just the most amazing singer. Fantastic stuff. That is The Small Faces taken from their Absolutely The Best collection with Tin Soldier."

Slade

"And talking of Slade."

"And before that we heard Slade from the album Slade? with a huge hit Gudbuy T'Jane."

Yes

"I like a bit of Yes but I've gotta be honest I really do dig the Trevor Rabin period Yes. I play a lot of songs from the Big Generator album and there's another one. The song is Shoot High Aim Low."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock It's time for a little break. And when we come back, we're gonna get all dreamy with David Bowie."

David Bowie

"And before that David Bowie from a five CD box set called Conversation Piece that came out a few months ago. That is from originally the 1969 album Space Oddity, it's the 2019 remix by Tony Visconti that we just heard though. The song Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud."

Deep Purple

"Now having jammed with him in a little club in Dublin about 30 years ago. And done a duet with him on one of his albums. A cover of a Bob Dylan tune called I'll Be Your Baby Tonight. It was one of the bonus tracks on Gillan's Inn. I've always known that Mr. Ian Gillan had a great sense of humour. But it's nice to be reminded of the sense of humour that he had back in 1971. When Deep Purple recorded the Fireball album. There a great bit of work called Anyone's Daughter."

The Clash

"Well from a couple of artists that took the early to mid 70s by storm to a band that took the mid to late 70s by storm. This is The Clash."

"And before that The Clash from 1976 I believe it was. The song Jail Guitar Doors."

Alice Cooper

"That song apparently was Jonny Rotten's audition to join the Sex Pistols. He was leaning up against the jukebox I guess in Malcolm McLaren's shop and they put a couple of bob in the jukebox and put that on and he sang along or mimed to it or something and that was Jonny Rotten's audition for the Sex Pistols. That of course is the classic brilliant version by Mr. Alice Cooper from the album Love It To Death in 1971. I'm Eighteen."

Cockney Rebel

"Right oh time to visit The Human Menagerie that is Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel."

"And before that we heard Cockney Rebel featuring the very wonderfully talented Mr. Steve Harley from the album Human Menagerie. Big hit single for them Judy Teen."

Stone Temple Pilots

"They made some fantastic music. Some great great albums. Absolutely by a long shot my favourite band of the so called Grunge period in the 90s. That is the Stone Temple Pilots from their album Tiny Music with Lady Picture Show."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this wee. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time for get this my 500th show for Planet Rock. Now that's something worth celebrating."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with this from one of my favourite albums ever. From the New York Dolls. 1973. Their debut album. This is Trash. Until next week see ya!."
