Classic Def Leppard Concert Review Kansas City, KS 2002

X/Ten 2002.

Def Leppard played a promo show on the X/Ten tour in Kansas City, KS on 29th June 2002 and an archive concert review is available to read.

The show took place at Sandstone Amphitheater as part of the radio sponsored Red, White and Boom event.

This was the first promo show for the X/Ten album and the first current live event covered by this site.

The setlist included the live electric debut of 'Now' and an unusual encore with 'Two Steps Behind' followed by 'Rock! Rock!'.

Kansas City Star - Concert Review Quotes

"Elliott still is shouting out the raspy lead vocals on such decibel-pounding tunes as the set-opening "Let's Get Rocked" a piece pulsing with primal energy that was a clear case of preaching to the crowd."

"Savage still lays down a propulsive bass line, which was echoed by drummer Rick Allen on songs like the infectious "Foolin' " and the succinctly titled "Love Bites."

"The band, which has been off the road and in the studio of late, seemed primed and ready to make some noise."

This and other archive concert reviews can be found on the show pages in the Tour History.
