Show Intro

"Greetings my locked down lovelies and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. We have a very special show for you tonight. We are dedicating tonight's show 100 percent to the doctors, nurses and the healthcare workers, almost a song there, that work for the NHS and beyond. All you independents as well. These people are putting their own lives on the line working way beyond the call of duty to look after the most vulnerable of us in this incredibly tough time that we are living through."

"Now it may be a little boring to think that every song title is gonna have the word doctor or nurse in it, but trust me music is far from boring. Example, let's get started with this one shall we. This is UFO."

UFO

"From the phenomenal Phenomenon album. Phew got it right first time. That is UFO from 1974. Fantastic single edit version there of the song Doctor Doctor."

Van Halen

"Right then over to America. Van Halen to be precise."

"And before that Van Halen from their second album in 1979. the song Somebody Get Me A Doctor."

Alice Cooper

"And before that from one of his more overlooked albums we heard Alice Cooper. The album is From The Inside. The song Nurse Rozetta."

Motley Crue

"A three in a row there folks, don't do that very often. We just heard from 1989 Motley Crue with the title track of their album Dr. Feelgood. Quite possibly named after one of my favourite British R and B bands of all time. Who knew."

The Beatles

"Quite like this three in a row lark, think we'll do it again. Here doing their bit for the cause are The Beatles."

"And before that we heard The Beatles. Now if you're a fan of The Beatles I heartily suggest that you head over to YouTube ASAP because somebody over the last few days has put up the acapella version of If I Fell. They've somehow got hold of the vocal tracks and isolated them from the music. So all you can hear if Paul McCartney and John Lennon singing in unison. And it is a joy to behold. I seriously say get over there and give it a listen it's fantastic. There though from the 2009 mono remaster album Revolver we just heard the song Doctor Robert."

Ted Nugent

"Before that was Ted Nugent from the album Great Gonzos The Best Of Ted Nugent. We heard the song Just What The Doctor Ordered."

Styx

"That my friends if you haven't guessed is Styx. It really is from their covers album Big Bang Theory. A great take on the old Humble Pie tune I Don't Need No Doctor."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott NHS Special. It's time for a little break. And when we come back, we're gponna experience some technical ecstasy with Black Sabbath."

Black Sabbath

"And before that we heard Black Sabbath from the album Technical Ecstasy with Rock And Roll Doctor."

City Boy

"From their Mutt Lange produced eponymously named debut album that is City Boy with Surgery Hours (Doctor Doctor)."

Doctors Of Madness

"OK so lovingly sharing some of their figments of emancipation with us. This is the Doctors Of Madness."

"And before that we heard the Doctors Of Madness from their second album Figments Of Emancipation with a song named after the band themselves Doctors Of Madness."

KISS

"A live staple in their set ever since it was originally released in 1976. That is KISS with a song called Calling Dr. Love, But that is re-record from the Sonic Boom sessions of about ten years ago."

Whitesnake

"If you're an avid listener of this show and I sincerely hope that you are. You may remember a few months back I started a segment that I said would come and go called same title different song. Well it's back folks. Starting off with Whitesnake."

"And before that we heard Whitesnake from the album Loverhunter. Both those last two songs entitled Medicine Man."

Def Leppard

"Recorded on the 26th April 1980. So almost to the week it's 40 years ago. It's incredible. That is Def Leppard from When The Walls Came Tumbling Down which is disc 3 in the recently released Early Years box set 1979 to 1981."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this NHS special. I'm so glad that you've stayed tuned. Don't forget every Thursday at 8pm out on your balconies, out on your streets clap clap clap clap clap forever and ever amen I say. These guys are doing a wonderful job. these ladies are doing a wonderful job. Please support them the best you can. If you can't run round your garden or climb up and own your stairs do whatever you can to help."

"UI hope you've enjoyed this sixty minutes worth of music. We're gonna close it with the New York Dolls and their tribute to the nurses around the world. This is their take on an old Bo Diddly song called Pills. Until next week see ya!."
