Show Intro

"Evening one and all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. It is this week coming to you all the way from Los Angeles in California. Yes I have been ensconced in this fair city for the last few days doing loads and loads of promo for the upcoming Down 'n' Outz album This Is How We Roll. Which is incidentally released October 11th."

"Now what have we got lined up for ya tonight. Yes there may be a Down 'n' Outz song later on in the show but for right now I'm gonna play you something from my current favourite new album. This is the Black Star Riders."

Black Star Riders

"I've said it before and no doubt I shall say it again, but of the four albums that this band have made so far this one is by far my favourite. The songwriting is really top notch. They are the Black Star Riders and we just heard the title track of the current album Another State Of Grace."

T. Rex

"So from my current favourite album to the first album that I ever owned. Which on the 24th September just a few days ago became 48 years old. So Happy Birthday Electric Warrior."

"And before that we heard T. Rex from the album Electric Warrior which became 48 years young earlier this week. The song that we heard the immortal Get It On."

David Bowie

"I remember when I first bought that album how bummed I was that The Spiders From Mars didn't play on it because it sounded so much like an album that the Spiders should have played on. I'm over it now of course. It is a fantastic record. It is David Bowie. The album is Diamond Dogs from 1974. The song that we just heard 1984."

Led Zeppelin

"Now if you were listening to the show last week you may remember that it was coming to you from Las Vegas in Nevada where Def Leppard were in town to do a radio show with various different artists of various different genres. there was Pop. There was Rock. There was Rap. There was Country. And one of the artists was Miley Cyrus who has really upped her Rock game recently. She performed Nine Inch Nails and Metallica songs when she payed Glastonury. Well last week she did these two next songs and she kicked 'em out of the park."

"And before that Led Zeppelin from Led Zeppelin IV with the amazing Black Dog."

Pink Floyd

"Yes that Miley Cyrus has certainly come a long way since Hanna Montana, twerking, riding around naked on a wrecking ball. Actually I quite liked that bit. But for Lars Ulirch to say that it was truly inspiring to see her doing Nothing Else Matters at Glastonbury just goes to show you that she is entitled to grow up and move on and get into some rock music. And for her to introduce her crowd to some great classic rock songs. I say good for you Miley. What we just heard there is a couple of songs that she did last week when we played in Vegas. Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd from the album The Wall."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show, all the way from Los Angeles in California this week. It is time for a little break and when we come back, some absolutely brand spanking new Down 'n' Outz for you."

Down 'n' Outz

"And before that absolutely brand spanking new Down 'n' Outz. The album is This Is How We Roll. It is out October 11th. The song we heard Last Man Standing."

Craig Bartock

"His name is Craig Bartock. He's currently a member of Heart who also played the festival last weekend with Def Leppard in Las Vegas, Nevada which put that song in my mind. It is from an album called The Finer Points Of Instinct. It is the very bonkerzoid Doll House."

Wayward Sons

"Now also out on October 11th is this crowds new album. Featuring the same drummer as the Down 'n' Outz. You couldn't make it up. This is the Wayward Sons."

"And before that the Wayward Sons. Brand new album it's called The Truth Ain't What It Used To Be. It is also out on October 11th just like the Down 'n' Outz album. It also features Phil Martini on the drums just like the Down 'n' Outz album. The song that we heard Any Other Way."

Alice Cooper

"That is the king of shock rock and also fellow presenter on Planet Rock. That is Alice Cooper from his last studio album Paranormal which a featured a bunch of the original Alice Cooper band plus also Larry Mullen Jr. from U2 on the drums on some of the songs. The track we just heard there Dead Flies. Great stuff."

Public Image Limited

"Right John say hello to the Planet Rock listeners. This is Public Image."

"And before that Public Image Limited from a collection called The Public Image Is Rotten. The song guess what, Public Image."

The Clash

"I saw them live in 1976 on theur first tour of the UK at the Sheffield Top Rank and I can honestly say I have never known before or since such a frenzied atmosphere. It was absolutely electrifying. They are The Clash there from the Black Market Clash collection we heard City Of The Dead."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, all the way from Los Angeles in California, is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with this and what a great way to end the show. This is The Rolling Stones and it is the title track of the album It's Only Rock 'n' Roll. Until next week see ya."
