Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. It is always to be with you, but tonight is especially great because it is an '80s extravaganza for you tonight. From start to finish it is the '80s through and through. There's a good reason for this. I will explain as the show progresses. But for now let's get things started with a very '80s style Jethro Tull."

Jethro Tull

"Scratching their inner ZZ Top just a little bit there. That is Jethro Tull featuring the very wonderfully talented Mr. Ian Anderson. The album is Crest Of A Knave. The song Steel Monkey."

Guns N' Roses

"Well if that one got us off to a rocking start this next two should seal the deal."

"And before that we heard Guns N' Roses from the amazing album Appetite For Destruction with one Mr. Brownstone."

Van Halen

"Van Halen from the album 1984 which was released, guess when?. The song Panama."

Planet Rock Allstars

"And now ladies and gentleman the real reason behind this week's show being an '80s extravaganza. Young Wyatt Wendels fellow presenter on this radio station that is Planet Rock has very bravely for charity decided to ride his bike all the way round the UK. Stopping off only when he gets to this year's Rockstock. Along with the bike ride there is a charity single that has been manfully put together by Toby Jepson from the Wayward Sons. He has corralled as many of his rock star friends together as possible. He has engineered this, produced it, arranged it. it is gonna be digitally available for everybody on the 6th of December. Please support this charity it's for a very very good cause. This is a great re-recording of a classic '80s hit for one Mr. John Farnham."

"And before that the brand new recording of John Farnham's old classic hit The Voice. This time featuring over 40 artists. Well done Toby Jepson for finding a balance on that. It features the likes of Alice Cooper, yours truly, Justin Hawkins, Lizzy Hale, Chris Robertson from Black Stone Cherry. Doug Aldrich. Both Phil Campbell's. Molly Marriott. Tim Ripper Owens. Dan Reed. Tyler Bryant. I could go on but I really need you to go out and buy it and check out the sleeve so you can see who else is involved in this recording. It is available to buy out of the truck that is following Wyatt around on his bike. You can buy it digitally on the 6th of December. And the proceeds of the bike ride and the sales of the song all go to the charity Mind which is the mental health charity for the UK. Please support this charity. Please support this record."

Honeymoon Suite

"Well if that doesn't epitomise the sound of pop rock in the mid '80s I don't know what does. It's taken from a collection called High Five The Power Ballads. It is Honeymoon Suite with Feel It Again."

"Phew!. After all that I think it's time for a little break. When we come back, Peter Gabriel with something that I think young Wyatt."

Peter Gabriel

"And before that Peter Gabriel from the amazing So with Red Rain."

Michael Penn

"Obviously coming from a very talented family one of his brothers is the actor Sean. That is Michael Penn from the album March with No Myth."

Adam And The Ants

"OK so for the next couple of songs it's bonkerziod time '80s style. Starting off with Adam And The Ants ."

"And before that Adam And The Ants from their very best of collection with Kings Of The Wild Frontier."

Wall Of Voodoo

"From 1983 and featuring the very eccentric Mr. Stan Ridgeway that is Wall Of Voodoo with Mexican Radio."

Cheap Trick

"Now here's a band that for 40 odd years have put out some fantastic music. And of course that includes the '80s. This is Cheap Trick."

"And before that Cheap Trick from their wonderful album Standing On The Edge with Rock All Night."

Joan Jett And The Blackhearts

"I believe that song featured in a long forgotten Michael J. Fox film from the '80s. But that's from the album Up Your Alley. It is Joan Jett And The Blackhearts. Great song called Little Liar."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, on this '80s extravaganza, is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"Until then let's go back to the mystery city with Hanoi Rocks. This is Malibu Beach Nightmare. Until next week see ya!."
