24 Years Ago DEF LEPPARD's VAULT Album At Number 15 In The USA

Def Leppard's Vault Greatest Hits album entered the US album chart at Number 15 on this day in 1995.

The first greatest hits release by the band which became their fourth consecutive Top Ten album in the UK.

The album had been released on 31st October 1995 in the USA/Canada.

It debuted at Number 15 on 18th November 1995.

The first album to chart outside the Top 10 since the 1984 'High 'n' Dry' reissue and the original version which peaked at 26 in 1981.

The single 'When Love & Hate Collide' had not been a hit in the USA and would only go on to reach Number 58.

The previous compilation release 'Retro-Active' had peaked at Number 9 in October 1993.

The second greatest hits release 'Rock Of Ages The Definitive Collection' would be their next Top 10 album in the USA.

The replacement for 'Vault' peaked at Number 10 in June 2005.

Rap act The Dogg Pound were at Number One in this week with their album 'Dogg Food'.

Other rock acts in the Top 40 that week were Smashing Pumpkins, Ozzy Osbourne, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bush, AC/DC and Silverchair.
