Show Intro

"Greetings music lovers and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the fantastic Planet Rock. It is great to be with you once again. I have in my humble opinion sixty minutes of some quite astonishing music lined up for ya. Starting off with this little beauty. This is Phil X and The Drills."

Phil X and The Drills

"From the EP Stupid Good Lookings Volume One. And featuring Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters on drums. That is Phil X of course. Phil X these days is the guitarist in Bon Jovi. Phil X And The Drills. the song we heard Too Much For My Own Good."

Doctors Of Madness

"Right then time to take the walk of shame with the Doctors Of Madness."

"And before that the Doctors Of Madness from their brand new album Dark Times. Their first album in 41 years. The song we heard Walk Of Shame."

Lenny Kravitz

"Back in 1993 when Def Leppard were promoting the Adrenalize album in Europe we did some festivals with the likes of The Black Crowes, Robert Plant and Lenny Kravitz. I specifically remember we were in Vienna with lenny Kravitz. It's the only time I've ever seen him live and he was magnificent and there from his debut album, but that's pulled from the Greatest Hits. The song is Let Love Rule."

Wayward Sons

"Now Toby Jepson would have us believe that the truth ain't what it used to be. Well the truth is that the new Wayward Sons album is really really good. For example check this out."

"And before that the Wayward Sons from their new album The Truth Ain't What It Used To Be. Great bit of work called Little White Lies."

Rod Stewart

"If you;re a regular listener to my show then I suggest you go put the kettle on because you've heard all this before. That song is from the first album that I ever bought back in 1971 with my own pocket money. Two pounds and 11p from a shop called Sine Electric in Broomhill, Sheffield. It is of course Rod Stewart from the album Every Picture Tells A Story with his version of the old Temptations hit I Know I'm Losing You."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on Planet Rock. It is time for a little break, and when we come back, we're gonna experience a little bit of tenderness from Duff McKagan."

Duff McKagan

"And before that we heard Duff McKagan from his latest album Tenderness with a fantastic bit of work called Don't Look Behind You."

Terrorvision

"As I was listening to that I was thinking of other classic rock songs that have got whistling solos in them. I'm thinking there's John Lennon and Roxy Music 'cause it was the same song. The Scorpions they did it. And forgive me there's lots lots more. But that is a great bit of work there that I haven't heard for many many years. They supported us back in 1996. And that song dates from way back before then, They of course are Terrorvision. It's from a collection called B-Sides And Rarities. the song is Tea Dance."

Down 'n' Outz

"And talking of songs with whistling solos."

"And before that the Down 'n' Outz. It's the second song to go to radio from the recent album This Is How We Roll. Complete with a whistling solo it is Creatures."

Pat Travers

"The very first show that Def Leppard ever played in the USA was at the Santa Monica Civic in the outskirts of Los Angeles on the 20th May 1980 supporting that very gentleman. And what a vibe it was to do that because only a few years me and my buddies had been to see him as the opening act fro the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. We'd seen him headline the Top Rank and the Sheffield University. And there from his debut album is Pat Travers. The song As My Life Flies."

Collective Soul

"Now here's a gentleman that I had the great pleasure of touring with in the Rock And Roll All Stars about 7 or 8 years ago. We went all over South America. I'm talking four members of Guns N' Roses, Gene Simmons, Sebastian Bach, Steve Stevens, Billy Duffy, yours truly. It was an amazing time. His name is Ed Roland. The band Collective Soul."

"And before that we heard Collective Soul from their brand new album Blood. The song that we heard Crushed."

Wilko Johnson And Roger Daltrey

"Now if my memory serves me correctly I voted that as my favourite album of the year when it came out. And that album came out in 2014 which means it's five years old. I cannot believe it is that old. What a great record it still sounds amazing. It is Wilko Johnson with Roger Daltrey on the lead vocals. It's the title track of the album Going back Home. It's an old Feelgood song of course."

Show Outro

"And hopefully you'll agree with me that we have crushed the last sixty minutes or so because that's about it for this week folks. Been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"Until then I'm gonna leave you with this. What a great way to go out. It is from their collection Mania. It is the Ramones with Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio. Of course you do you're listening to it 24/7. Right?. Right."
