Torg And Elliott - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes (Transcribed by dltourhistory)

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction/Fan Vote

"Yea actually I must admit I was. I think, you know, my perspective on Def Leppard is kinda unique because I'm the New Guy of 27 years. Prior to that I was a Def Leppard fan. I mean from way back before the first album I bought the Wasted single and every album up through. Now I don't have to buy the albums 'cause I'm in the band I get them free.."

"You know so I've been in the band for 27 years but I was also a huge fan and I've noticed through my time of being a fan and a member of Def Leppard that the band hasn't got a lot of industry recognition. But yet we have this huge fan base, you know, around the world. And so I do feel that it's something that Def Leppard deserves. I think, you know, that Leppard's been ignored."

"I mean Def Leppard has never won a Grammy. Think about that for a second. I mean the Pyromania album was a landmark groundbreaking record sold multi millions. Only to be followed up by Hysteria which, you know, one of the greatest rock albums of all time. And, you know, not even nominated for a Grammy let alone winning one. ."

"So, you know, I just kind of feel that it's about time Def Leppard did win something and so this is nice you know. It feels good. It feels like it's well deserved and I think the thing that we reflect on more than anything else in the fact that we won the biggest ever popular vote. So I think that really speaks about the band and the sort of fans that we have. And that kind of love you know. And that's always been where our focus is. Our focus has been there, you know, so it's really nice that our fans came through for us and I think that, you know, eventually the music industry kinda had to take notice of Def Leppard you know. So there you go I'm gonna have to buy a suit and a nice pair of shoes and clean myself up for this aren't i?. It is it's a grown up kind of a thing you know."

Las Vegas Sin City Residency/2013 Shows

"Oh no I escape. I can't take Vegas for more than a few days you know. When we did the last residency in 2013 it was a lot of fun. It was really, it was a great experience and I look forward to doing it again. ButI would always leave on the days when we weren't working. I went back to California at the time. I think I'm probably gonna go to Tahoe or something. I'm gonna explore some driving roads. I'm really into cars."

"There you go I'm gonna be a tourist you know. I'm gonna get a road map and a fast car and head out on the road. That kind of thing."

1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Show/Brian May At RRHOF

"Yeah you know Brian is a lovely lovely lovely human being. I mean first and foremost he's a genuine warm person. Obviously incredibly intelligent and not a bad guitar player either you know. So he's a very very well rounded guy and that was the first time I ever played with him. He's been on stage with us, with Leppard, several times since and he might even be in the next month or so who knows you know?."
