SiriusXM VOLUME/Trunk Nation - Rick Allen Interview Quotes - (Transcribed by dltourhistory)

Listening To Old DL Songs/Las Vegas Setlist

"It just took me back. It took me back to a really special place because, you know, a lot of those songs we haven't played in a long time. But I suspect when we do the Vegas residency we'll probably revisit some of those songs. And I was imagining myself playing them and the just...some of those songs I played with two arms. So I was trying to figure out, well how am I gonna do this?. So I was pacing around just trying to figure out how I could play this stuff and I think a lot of those songs are gonna resurface."

Opening For Themselves In Las Vegas 2019

"I'm not sure it's gonna be Ded Flatbird but it'll be, you know, a form of that. The funny thing was when people heard that there was an opening band called Ded Flatbird. When we first came on stage people were booing us. But then people quickly realised that it was actually us playing."

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction/Fan Vote

"Yeah I said last night, you know, it's wonderful that we get recognition from our peers. But when I saw the amount of people that voted, including my mother and everybody I know. But the amount of people that voted just completely blew us all away. We were just so happy with the factU guess you guys put us in the hall of fame. Si that's the most important thing."

Not Being Nominated Since 2005

"No we talked about it but, you know, when we go out there and play shows you guys just lift us up. So, you know, you don't necessarily need an award like that. It's the icing on the cake. It's fantastic that it happened and the reality of it is great. But every time we went on tour we were always lifted up by our fans and that's the most important thing."

Inductioo Ceremony/Speeches/Setlist

"Not a thing. We'll wing it. .No a couple of people...actually Steve Smith with Journey. He said use the teleprompter. He said if you don't use the teleprompter you'll forget to thank your wife."

"Yeah I mean I'm not gonna tell you but they're songs you know."

Pete Willis Attending The Ceremony

"I hope so. I think anybody that was anything to do with the success of this band deserves to be there. And they know who they are. We know who they are and there's no animosity at this point. It's just where we are in our career and if people were there to be supportive. Like yourself, like these guys, like you guys. Then, you know, it's OUR night. You know what at I mean?."

Pete Willis Being Inducted/Been in touch with him?

"Yeah we stay in touch with Pete. Yeah he is still *working in real estate(. He has other bands that he plays with but that's not really his thing these days you know."

Has he given you any indication if he will come over to attend?

"I just hope he will. I haven't heard from him but I really do hope he will."

Las Vegas Sin City Residency

"Actually second time going back doing a residency. And the thing I loved about doing a residency was the fact that my bed didn't have wheels on it you know. It was cool. It was like people came to us and it was fantastic."

"So I'm looking forward to doing it again. It's a different way to experience Vegas 'cause it hasn't always been my favourite place. So I'm looking forward to it it'll be fun."

A Second Def Leppard Cruise

"I'd love to do one. But I think it was a sort of a series of events and I think first and foremost it was losing Jimmy Bain and then Joe losing his voice. And the fact that we had terrible weather. I think if they'd have experienced the cruise the way that I did the first time I came on board with Tesla they would wanna come again. They would wanna come and do it again."

"Yeah I think that's good and I think for Joe if we did a cruise in a hotel he'd love that more."
