Def Leppard 1988. Def Leppard 1988

Def Leppard played the first show of the Hysteria European tour in Stockholm, Sweden on 4th March 1988 and fan recorded audio is available.

The show which took place at the Johanneshovs Isstadion.

They were now being supported by M.S.G. (McAuley Schenker Group).

The first visit by the band to Stockholm since August 1986 when they played the Monsters Of Rock show at the Rasunda Fotbolstadion.

The last headline show in the city took place in October 1983 and was also the first show of the second European Pyromania tour.

The band suffered a technical mishap during the encore of 'Travellin' Band' when Rick's electronic drumkit lost power. As it was being fixed Joe played a brief acoustic snippet of 'Lola' by The Kinks.

Stockholm would also host another opening night in April 1993 when the main Adrenalize European tour kicked off at the Globe Arena.

In recent years Joe has said the band sold more tickets for this show than ABBA did in the 70s.

This show, like many on this leg of the tour, was recorded by an audience member.

Listen to three songs - 'Gods Of War', 'Let It Go' and 'Die Hard the Hunter' which have been posted on YouTube.
