2019 Tour

Def Leppard's 2019 world tour starts in 2 days time in Solvesborg, Sweden.

The Def Leppard 2019 World Tour will start next week with a return to the Sweden Rock festival.

The 2019 tour had its first show announcement back in September 2018 for the Rockfest in Barcelona, Spain. One of 15 dates to be played in the UK/Europe during the first leg.

The band's first mainland European shows since June 2015.

Currently 39 shows have been confirmed and announced for the main 2019 world tour in 14 different countries.

These updates look at some of the cities being played on the tour continuing with the 9th show in Dessel, Belgium.

A return to a festival last played in June 2008.

Playing before headliners KISS and with Whitesnake also on the same bill.

Although Def Leppard has been making music continuously for more than 40 years, the English band clearly does not intend to give it a shot, as evidenced by the title 'The Story So Far' from the compilation album that will be released in November 2018. The quintet broke through with 'High' n 'Dry' in the early 80's and with the following albums 'Pyromania' (1983), 'Hysteria' (1987) and 'Adrenalize' (1992) became one of the most successful hard rock bands ever.

With a delightful combination of classical metal with poppy melodies, catchy hooks and vocal harmonies - sometimes called 'glam metal' by some - the band not only managed to sell more than 100 million records, but also to inspire many other bands.

After the turn of the century it became a bit calmer in the area of new releases, but with their invariably excellent concerts, Def Leppard remains a welcome band at numerous festivals. (# GMM19)
