3 Years Ago DEF LEPPARD Postpone All February Tour Dates

Def Leppard 2015.

Def Leppard were forced to postpone all upcoming tour dates three years ago in February 2016 due to Joe Elliott's vocal problems.

Rick Allen had confirmed a day earlier that Joe had been told by a doctor he needed to rest his voice for at least one month in order to recover from his laryngitis. If not he may permanently damage his voice.

The band and all venues confirmed the postponements a day later.

Most postponed shows were eventually rescheduled and played in May 2016 but three had to be cancelled.

13 shows with Styx and Tesla were announced in October 2015 for January and February 2016.

The first of those shows in Greensboro, NC was postponed earlier that week.

The Orlando, FL was then postponed at the last minute only a few hours before show time.

The last time the band had had to cancel or postpone that many shows was in October 2009. All 23 shows running from 22nd October to 28th November 2009 were cancelled on the 16th October.

A statement at the time said - "...we don't take cancelling shows lightly, but unfortunately life's commitments need to be the priority.". Joe later revealed it was he who wanted the tour scrapped so he could be with his wife as she prepared for the birth of their son (born in December that year).
