SiriusXM VOLUME/Debatable - Rick Allen Interview Quotes - (Transcribed by dltourhistory)

Painting Members Of Def Leppard

"Not yet. Not Yet. No joking apart I think eventually I would do that. I just wanted to go back into some of my musical past and all the people that inspired me. So that's kind of why it's people who sadly aren't on the planet. That's really where I wanted to start. So that's gonna keep me busy for a while. So I'll get around to doing the band."

Def Leppard Staying Together

"I remember, yeah, my own situation is one thing. I can't necessarily speak to that because I wasn't necessarily in the room when the guys were having conversations. But from what I can gather it was very supportive and they always gave me the choice of when you're ready you can come back. That's friendship and that's like a brotherhood."

"I do remember when Steve Clark left us and I remember sitting in a room with the whole band and just kind of going 'Well, why do we do this?. Why are we doing this?'. And then it was like, you know, the light went on and it was like because we like each other and we're friends and this is what we do and we enjoy each other's company. So that's why we should probably keep doing what we're doing."

"And then for me it became necessity and then discovering the power of the human spirit and just really going you know what?, this is horrible. This is a horrible thing to happen to anybody but I'm gonna do it."

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction

"Yeah that started to happen. It was right at the end of the last tour and I remember sitting in the car with Joe and just going wow, this is so cool that people are acknowledging, you know, us and the amount of emails and people reaching out to congratulate. It's a big deal and actually. I think, I'm hoping that the fan vote influenced the decision that was made because there were so many people that voted for that you know."

"that's cool and I don't know that for a fact - but I'm just hoping in some way shape or form that Fan Vote had some bearing on, you know, the fact that we're where we are."

"It does and everybody gets really, yeah, everybody starts reflecting on a.fantastic career and the fact that, you know, we get busier and busier and busier. You know every tour gets longer. Not sure whether it's because we're on the endangered species list."

New Music

"We always said that we always want new music on stuff that we're ready to put out."

Playing Stadiums

"That is very cool. Scared the crap out of me. I mean seeing that many people."

Monsters Of Rock Cruise

"I believe I'll be going on the Monsters Of Rock tour again. Going out on a cruise which was immensely successful. Nut for Def Leppard when we went out, it was like the seas were so rough. And you know a few of the guys didn't really enjoy it. But I went out with Tesla and did that and it was great. Really loved it so I wanna go and do it again."
