Rare 1979 DEF LEPPARD Session Re-Broadcast By BBC 6 Music

A rare Def Leppard session recorded in 1979 will be re-broadcast once again by BBC 6 Music in October.

The band went to Maida Vale Studios in North London to record one of many sessions for the BBC.

BBC 6 Music will re-broadcast the session as part of their Live Music Hour on 3rd October. The main featured artist on the show is Ian Hunter with a 1979 live concert recording from Hammersmith Odeon in London.

The four tracks were originally recorded on this date and first broadcast of The Friday Rock Show with the late Tommy Vance on 26th October 1979.

The session featured three songs that would end up on the debut album.

Also included is a great version of 'Good Morning Freedom', the eventual B Side of 'Hello America'.

The band lineup at the time of course featured both original guitarists Steve Clark and Pete Willis.

Vivian starts his own radio show on 18th September at 10pm on BBC Radio Ulster.

This Def Leppard session was last broadcast by the station in October 2015.
