Show Intro

"Evening one and all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. This week it is coming to you from the middle of nowhere. Great song, album and movie title. Sadly all taken. We have sixty minutes of fantastic music for you tonight. Starting off with the anthem of all anthems. Especially if you've just finished a 60 date tour."

Montrose

"From their magnificent 1973 debut album that is Montrose featuring of course on guitar Ronnie Montrose. Sammy Hagar's amazing vocals and a fantastic rhythm section in Denny Carmassi and Bill Church. The song we heard the classic Rock The Nation."

Thin Lizzy

"OK so from the San Francisco Bay Area all the way to the Kings of Ireland. This is Thin Lizzy."

"And before that Thin Lizzy from the fantastic album Vagabonds of the Western World. The Eric Bell lineup if you like with a great bit of work called Little Darling."

Mick Ronson

"Recently featured on the original soundtrack of the documentary Beside Bowie. It was written by David Bowie for his old mucka Mick Ronson from his debut album back in 1974. The album Slaughter On Tenth Avenue. The song Growing Up And I'm Fine."

Sixx:A.M.

"Well if you follow social media you may have seen over the last couple of weeks that a certain Tommy Lee and a certain Nikki Sixx have been seen in the studio together. So who knows what's really going on. But what has Nikki Sixx been up to since Motley Crue split?. Well this is some of the stuff he's done."

"And before that Sixx:A.M. Nikki Sixx's other band if you like. The album is This Is Gonna Hurt. The song we heard Lies Of The Beautiful People."

Be Bop Deluxe

"Wakefield's finest from their second album Futurama 1975 produced by Mr. Roy Thomas Baker. That is Be Bop Deluxe with Sister Seagull."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back, we're going into orbit with Television."

Television

"And before that we heard Television from 1977 the title track of their debut album Marquee Moon."

Crossfire Eagles

"Well no doubt some of you out there have heard of the likes of Julian Lennon and Sean Lennon and Jakob Dylan and Zakk Starkey. All famous sons of famous rock stars. Well meet a new one not famous yet but probably will be soon. That is the Crossfire Eagles featuring Tyler Savage, son of Rick. Brand new EP called Dreamers And Screamers. Great start boys well done. The song is called No Matter What."

The Small Faces

"Well from a brand new band who are starting to negotiate their way through the mine field that is the music industry. To a band who pretty much started Brit Rock movement all the way back in the mid sixties. This is The Small Faces."

"And before that from the Mod Mania collection we heard The Small Faces with All Or Nothing."

The Rolling Stones

"From the album Exile On Main Street. Strange title really considering they recorded it in the basement of a chateau on France mostly. That is The Rolling Stones with a fantastic bit of work called Happy."

Roxy Music

"Now if you've been reading your favourite rock website this week you may have seen that Def Leppard have been nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 13 years after we were first eligible to be nominated. What astonishes me though is amongst all the other nominations this band were involved for the very first time also 21 years after they were first eligible to be nominated. I find that fascinating. This is Roxy Music."

"And before that Roxy Music with a song that will hopefully help get them into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in the year 2019. from their debut album these days as a bonus track but it was a standalone single in 1972. Their debut hit Virginia Plain."

David Bowie

"Wow I can't believe that was actually a B-Side. It would have been such a great album track on Ziggy Stardust. It is David Bowie and The Spiders From Mars. It is these days a bonus track on the Ziggy album. It was originally the B-Side of I think John, I'm Only Dancing. The song is Holy Holy."

Show Outro

"And that my friends all the way from, well as my Granny would say the back of beyond, is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time from Honolulu in Hawaii where Def Leppard will be playing the second of two shows playing the entire Hysteria album and more. Before we head off down to Japan, Australia, New Zealand and then eventually in December back to the UK and Ireland."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with this. From their Taking No Prisoners The Gypie Years box set. This is Dr. Feelgood and Baby Jane. Until next week see ya!."
