Show Intro

"Evening all. Welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. This week coming to you all the way from Down Under in Sydney, Australia. It is the last of our five Australian shows tonight. We have one show left down here in New Zealand on Monday night in Auckland and then a couple of weeks off before we start our UK/Irish tour in Dublin on December 1st. It's going great, really is. I can't wait to bring this thing to the UK and Ireland. Sixty minutes of great music. I will explain myself regarding the songwriters of this song after we hear this. This is INXS featuring Jimmy Barnes."

INXS/Jimmy Barnes

"I played them both last week. I play them together this week. That is INXS featuring Jimmy Barnes on a Vanda/Young song called Good Times. Originally recorded in the mid 60s by a band called The Easybeats. Recorded in the mid 70s by Mott. And recorded in 2009 by the Down 'n' Outz. Now I picked that song and I play that song because a couple of eager listeners last week pointed out that I mentioned that Vanda and Young, the songwriters of that song, were actually Malcolm and Angus Young's cousins. Wrong!. And I knew it was wrong...jet lag. I'm just blaming it on jet lag. They were their older brothers. Their cousins however, and this is an interesting story. Well Steve Young is now rhythm guitarist in AC/DC or was the last time that they performed. And Fraser used to sell T-Shirts for Def Leppard on the On through The Night tour back in 1980. And that folks is an absolute fact."

Scorpions

"Now our very special guests on these shows down here are the Scorpions who we toured with back in 1980 in America and in Europe. And I'm very pleased to say that they are playing this song in their set."

"And before that the Scorpions from the Virgin Killer album back in 1976 and they are still playing this song live and it sounds amazing. The song Catch Your Train."

The Struts

"Well if you like your rock music big, brassy and brave you will love the new Struts album. It is called Young And Dangerous. That is a song called In Love With The Camera."

Big Country

"Now here's a couple of songs by two bands that are as it were intrinsically tied together. Probably forever. Starting off with Big Country."

"The Skids these days feature the dual guitar attack if you like of Bruce and Jamie Watson Father and son. Both once members of Big Country. the band formed by the late great Stuart Adamson when he split from The Skids. From their Greatest Hits album we just heard Fields Of Fire."

The Skids

"Very dark. Very poignant and telling it how it is. That is The Skids from their latest album which was released earlier this year and is called Burning Cities. It was produced by Youth from Killing Joke. It's got some great stuff on it. The song we just heard Desert Dust."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. All the way from Sydney in Australia this week. Time for a little break and when we come back, we're gonna go on a Sleighride Nantucket style with Mountain."

Mountain

"And before that hands up if you remember the TV show Weekend World. Yes that was the theme music for said show. It is Mountain. The song Nantucket Sleighride."

Pugwash

"Australia is a vast continent. It is actually bigger than North America, but we're only playing in six cities so there's a lot of long travelling. Which gives you plenty of opportunities to put the headphones on and I have been listening to that band pretty much all week. fantastic band called Pugwash. They are a vehicle for the very talented Mr. Tommy Walsh. Dublin based. See him quite a lot when I'm at home. From their latest album Silverlake that is a great song called Better Than Nothing At All."

Crossfire Eagles

"Right then time for some musical nepotism if you like. Starting off with a song followed by the father. This is the Crossfire Eagles."

"And before that Crossfire Eagles featuring Tyler Savage, son of Def Leppard's Rick, from their EP Dreamers And Screamers. The song we heard Hypatia."

Def Leppard

"Taken from the soon to be released The Story So Far collection. That is Def Leppard with Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. A song we recorded for a radio session back in May and we decided to give it a remix and put it on the album."

The Quireboys

"Well keeping it in the family, sort of, this is The Quireboys."

"And before that from last year's Twisted Love. A great return to form is they ever lost it at all. The Quireboys. The song we heard Torn And Frayed."

Rod Stewart

"Such a fan of that album. What a great great record. That is from the album Gasoline Alley. It is Rod Stewart featuring some brilliant slide guitar playing by one Mr. Ronnie Wood."

Show Outro

"And that my friends all the way from Sydney in Australia is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week god willing at exactly the same time all the way from god knows where because I shall be taking a little break before we head off to that cold weather that will be waiting for us when we get to the British and Irish dates which start Dublin December 1st."

"So until next week I'm gonna leave you with this. From the album Singled Out. And let's hope we don't need one when we get there. This is the good doctors themselves Dr. Feelgood and She's A Wind Up. Until next week see ya!."
