Def Leppard played another show on the 2018 Hysteria tour earlier today in Sydney, Australia with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 8,000 capacity ICC Sydney Theatre.

The fifth show of the Australia/New Zealand leg of the 'Hysteria & More' tour. The concert ended within the last few hours and was played at 9pm local time (AEDT).

The band's first time in Sydney since 17th November 2015 during the World Tour 2015.

The 8th appearance by the band in this city and first time at this venue. Full name - International Convention Centre Sydney.

The first appearance here was in February 1984 on the Pyromania tour at Salinas Club with Australian band Boss as support.

They would return eight years later in July 1992 for two In The Round shows at the Entertainment Centre on the Adrenalize tour.

They would not return for a full show until November 2008 on the Songs From The Sparkle Lounge tour at the 17,000 capacity Acer Arena.

A small acoustic show did take place before this on the Vault tour in November 1995.

Another show here then took place in October 2011 on the Mirrorball tour.

The last show here was played in November 2015 as part of the three date Australian tour. The final time at the Entertainment Centre then known as the Qantas Credit Union Arena.

Setlist/Staging

The 'Hysteria' album was played in full for the very first time in Sydney.

'Don't shoot Shotgun', 'Run Riot', 'Excitable' and 'Love And Affection' were all played for the first time in Sydney.

The full Hysteria album was followed by five songs again. 'Let It Go' was played as song #13 and for the first time in Sydney.

As the encore section began fans shouted for AC/DC. Joe replied with "No we're not playing any AC/DC." which prompted Phil to start the 'Back In Black' riff. He was joined by the rest of the band for a short and full electic snippet lasting a few seconds. They then played 30 seconds or so of 'Highway To Hell' and seemed to be playing the full song before it was stopped with Joe commenting "We tried" - (full video below).

The impressive looking video wall outside the venue featured the Hysteria poster - see photos below.

Scorpions Cancellation/Dallas Crane

The Scorpions once again had to pull out with a few hours notice. Singer Klaus Meine's voice has not yet recovered.

Scorpions Press Release/Statement

Klaus Meine, Scorpions‘ co-founder and lead singer said:

“Dear Australian Fans, believe me I have tried everything to be up on Stage tonight in Sydney … I haven‘t said a word in the last 36 Hours to rest my pipes but unfortunately my voice is not back to the power it needs to sing my heart out for you tonight. You deserve nothing less than the best Performance and I hope we have a chance to come back, to finally ‘Rock you Like a Hurricane’. Thank you for all the ‘get well soon’ messages. Thank you, Def Leppard, for your amazing support on this Tour. Love Klaus”. Klaus

It is hoped Klaus will make a full recovery ahead of their final show scheduled for Monday at Spark Arena, Auckland.

Scorpions Meet and Greet will still go ahead as planned but without Klaus, for those who have purchased Scorpions Meet and Greet packages.

Aria Award nominated Melbourne alternative rock band Dallas Crane will be opening the show tonight in Sydney.
