Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome to the Joe Elliott show once again here on what else but the wonderful Planet Rock. And what do we have for ya tonight?. Sixty minutes of, in my humble opinion, fantastic music and tonight we're starting off with something absolutely brand spanking new. They are born to break. They are The Amorettes."

The Amorettes

"Produced by Thunder's Luke Morley. Good job Luke, sounds fantastic. They are from West Lothian. They are The Amorettes and from an album due out in April, Born To Break, that is Everything I Learned I Learned from Rock 'n' Roll. Me too girls, me too."

Mick Ronson

"Right then here's a ridiculously obscure pop quiz question. If the angels in heaven formed a football team what position would Mick Ronson play?. Well pretty obvious really, centre forward."

"And before that Mick Ronson from his album Play Don't Worry back in 1975, with the very sporty Angel No. 9."

Peter Gabriel

"What an astonishing body of work that man has put out. That is the lead off track from his album So. He is Peter Gabriel. The song Red Rain."

Ultravox

"Right then let's go retro. Rare retro. This is Ultravox."

"And before that we heard Ultravox when they were led by the wonderful, punky at the time, John Fox. From a collection called Rare Retro we heard their lead off first ever single Young Savage."

Japan

"Couple of tracks back to back there that you could call 70s art rock if you like. That is Japan from their debut album when they were a bit of a rock band really. Adolescent Sex is the album. The song Lovers On Main Street."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock. It is time for a little break and when we come back, a long. A very, very long question from one Mr. Peter Frampton."

Peter Frampton

"Coming in at an astonishing 13 minutes and 43 seconds that is Peter Frampton from what is one of the best selling live albums of all time. Frampton Comes Alive with a song called Do You Feel Like We Do."

The Clash

"I normally pay two songs out the break but that's so long we're gonna really have to start catching up a little bit and play things that are a little shorter and a little faster. Like this from The Clash."

" And before that from 1976 and giving rock music a damn good kick up the backside which quite frankly it needed. The Clash from their debut album with a song called What's My Name."

Wilko Johnson And Roger Daltrey

"I raved about the album when it came out in 2014 and I'm still raving about it. It's a fantastic record. It is Wilko Johnson with Roger Daltrey. They're doing a redo of an old Doctor Feelgood song called All Through The City. The album is called Going Back Home."

Cheap Trick

"Well, helping us keep the tempos revved up. This is Cheap Trick."

"And before that from 2008 we heard Cheap Trick, huge fans of The Beatles themselves. The album is called the Latest. The song we heard Sick Man Of Europe."

The Beatles

"From the 2009 mono remaster, which if, I don't know if you're a vinyl freak or if you're an audiophile but sometimes the mono versions of these old Beatles songs sound as good if not better than the latter day stereo versions. But from the album Help! back in 1965 I believe it was. That was The Beatles with It's Only Love."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you god willing at the same time next week from somewhere in the capital. Yes because I shall be in London. It will be the night before Def Leppard plays the Royal Albert Hall as part of Roger Daltrey's Teenage Cancer Trust week of shows. Really looking forward to that. Hope you can make it. If not I'll meet you back here on Planet Rock next week instead."

"Gonna sign off tonight with a song from my favourite ever Judas Priest album. It's their second album. It's called Sad Wings Of Destiny. And this track is called The Ripper . Until next week see ya!."
