Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen was recently interviewed on Missouri radio and spoke about the upcoming tour with Journey.

Phil spoke to Mark Reardon of KMOX radio to promote the St. Louis, MO stadium show.

Phil talked about the G3 tour, Delta Deep, his first concert/guitar, musical influences, opening for UFO with Girl, record sales/Diamond awards, backstage myths, Pyromania success, joining the band in 1982, hard work, playing stadiums, London show, 2018 North American tour, Rock And Roll lifestyle and Motley Crue.

He spoke about playing stadiums and the upcoming Teenage Cancer Trust show in London as well as the North American dates with Journey.

Opening For UFO With Girl

"My first tour was opening up for UFO with my old band Girl. Yeah we opened up. Michael had left by then and Paul Chapman was the guitar played. Paul Chapman actually coincidentally joined us on stage at the G3 thing in Florida. But yeah UFO was a great experience. I loved them."

Playing Stadiums

"I do the bigger the better. We just played Rock In Rio a few months ago which is awesome, it's like 90,000 and you know Latin audiences, especially in Rio, are fairly crazy. So we had a wonderful time doing that."

Teenage Cancer Trust Show

"And next month, yeah next month, we do the Royal Albert Hall in England. We're doing the Teenage Cancer Trust which is awesome. Which got set up by Roger Daltrey of The Who. He asked us to do that and we said absolutely."

Def Leppard/Journey Tour

"So all of these things are great, but then obviously we've got the big tour with Journey which I'm really looking forward to. And yeah for me the bigger shows are more fun. I mean I like playing anywhere. I loved this theatre tour I just did on the G3 thing. But I do prefer playing massive stadiums and seeing loads of people, it's pretty wonderful."
