JC Corcoran/KBDZ - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

Teenage Cancer Trust Show

"And talking of Roger Daltrey, we're actually. Def Leppard's playing the Teenage Cancer Trust concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 25 days actually. That's the next thing we're doing and Roger had asked us to do that. We done a couple of gigs in South America with The Who which was amazing and Roger had asked if we'd do that. And he is amazing. He's very grounded and it was just an honour to be with them and actually for him to ask us that, it's been really cool."

Cybernauts Album Project/David Bowie

"First off it was The Spiders From Mars. It was his original band that played with him on Hunky Dory, Man Who Sold The World, Aladdin Sane and Ziggy Stardust. It was Trevor Bolder and Woody Woodmansey. Trevor unfortunately passed away, but we was doing a tribute for Mick Ronson who had passed away who was his guitar player."

"I got introduced to Bowie on Top Of The Pops. I was like 14 and there's this guy comes out, especially Mick Ronson the guitar player. I was like oh my god this is great. So we were huge fans and then when we met the guys and when Mick Ronson had passed away, you know, we decided to do this tribute and we actually done a whole tour."

"And we recorded a bunch of stuff. We are gonna finish two other songs off and we'll have an album's worth of studio material that were all Bowie songs. So it was called the Cybernauts and there's stuff floating around on the Internet, but we're actually at some point gonna get the album and do it properly and we've got enough of Trevor Bolders bass stuff that we can actually honour him as well. So that's...it's kind of a cool thing."

Phil Collen - March 2016 Interview Quote

"All the above. Man Raze, we’re looking at releasing an album. I’m doing the new Tesla album, producing that. That’s underway at the moment. As for the Cybernauts, we’ve been promising that for years. We’ve actually pretty much got all the songs. We’ve got to record three more. We’ve got some bass tracks from Trevor Bolder, who passed away. Woody Woodsmansey is going to play drums. I’m going to play guitar and Joe [Elliott] has already done some acoustics and vocals, so it’s just a matter of us getting the time."
