Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. This week it is coming to you all the way from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. And yes Phil Collen is back. Steve Brown did do a wonderful job, but Phil is back where he belongs. And with that great news we move on with sixty minutes of superb music in my humble opinion. Starting off with this beauty by Mr. Ryan Roxie."

Ryan Roxie

"Now the name Ryan Roxie may be unfamiliar to ya unless you are a fan of the Coop. Yes he is part of Alice Coop's live touring band. Has been in and out of the band for any years. One of many guitarists since of course the original band split in 1974. But that is from his solo album Imagine Your Reality. It is a cover of the old Move song California Man. But in actual fact it's really a cover of the version done by Cheap Trick. And funnily enough there's a guest vocal by who else but Robin Zander."

Earl Slick

"Well we just spent a couple of great days in Toronto, Canada where by absolute coincidence. Thursday being the day off, my very good friend Miss Emm Gryner and her band Trent Severn were playing a tiny club 400 yards from our hotel. So that was a no brainer. But who was there, I sat next to all night, Mr. Earl Slick just happened to be in town as well. Earl Slick of course the guitar player for David Bowie on and off all the way from Young Americans right throughout his career. He also hung around for last night's show for us at the Roger's Centre. So I thought it would be very rude not to play the song that me and Earl did for his album Zig Zag way back in 2004."

"And before that Earl Slick, guitar extraordinaire, once of David Bowie, of John Lennon, Ian Hunter. He even did a stint in the New York Dolls. From his album Zig Zag the song Psycho Twang."

Pat Travers

"Two guitarists with very contrasting styles but equally brilliant at their trade. That is Pat Travers from his second album in 1977. It is called Makin' Magic. It features Nicko McBrain, my old mate from Iron Maiden on drums there. The song You Don't Love Me."

Montrose

"Well we just heard two fantastic guitarists. Let's not stop there shall we. This is Montrose."

"And before that from their second album in 1974 we heard Montrose. The album is Paper Money. The song I Got The Fire."

Bad Wolves

"The very harrowing story that Dolores O'Riordan was gonna add backing vocals to that particular version of her song the night that she passed away. And that the band decided not to release it and then eventually changed their minds donating all the royalties to Dolores O'Riordan's children. Makes that band in my eyes good eggs. That band are the Bad Wolves and from their album Disobey that is their version of the old Cranberries classic Zombie."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock. This week coming to ya all the way from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. It's time for a little break and when we come back, a double slab of pop prog."

Kansas

"And before that Kansas with some crazy brilliant melody work. From the album Left Overture. The song The Wall."

Dixon House Band

"I heard that song on the radio when I was about 18 years old and I think I'm probably the only person in the UK that bought it. But I really liked it ata the time and I haven't heard it since and somehow it just popped into my head this week. It is the Dixon House Band from an album called Fighting Alone. The song Sooner Or Later."

Starz

"Now the aforementioned Steve Brown, who stood in for Phil for three or four gigs, had been walking around backstage all week wearing a Starz shirt. Starz a band from LA that almost made it. So there was no option but to play this."

"And before that the band that never quite made it but what a great song. They are Starz. The song is Cherry Baby."

Bam And Share Ross

"That is brand new and that is Bam from Dogs D'Amour and Share Ross his wife. Current bass player in the Down 'n' Outz. The album is Twin Times Radio. Loving that. the song is Always You."

The Kut

"Right sticking with the ladies. Seeing as Share just had her three minutes worth. Here's some more. This is The Kut.

"And before that we heard The Kut. Well the album is Valley Of Thorns but the song was not actually on the album. It's the B-Side. Inexplicably left off. It's one of the best songs. It is is called I Don't Need Therapy."

Mystery Jets

"Great name. Great album and great song. They are the Mystery Jets from 2016 the album Curve Of The Earth. The song Bombay Blue."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, all the way from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week god willing at the same time. All the way from Charlotte in North Carolina."

"Till then I'm gonna leave you with this. From the album Time Machine Anthology 1970 to 1977. And I saw them live at the Sheffield Top Rank and they were fantastic. They are Stray and the song is One Night In Texas. Until next week see ya!."
