Def Leppard confirmed their 2018 tour dates earlier today for the USA/Canada and UK/Ireland with many new venues being played.

The band announced their 2018 tour dates earlier today with many new and interesting venues being played for the first time.

69 dates were confirmed across the USA and Canada from May to October to be followed by 11 arena shows in the UK in December with the 'Hysteria' album being played in full and in sequence.

The tour will include ten outdoor stadiums shows and has Journey as the co-headline act with headlining duty shared by each band as on the 2005 Rock Of Ages tour with Bryan Adams. The capacities of these venues range from 39,000 to over 53,000.

By comparison the 1983 San Diego stadium show had an attendance of 55,000. The 1980 show in Cleveland Stadium was attended by 48,910. A 2001 promo show at Houston's AstroDome saw them perform to a crowd of 51,000.

The UK leg sees the band playing two arena venues for the first time including The O2 in London.

Take a look at some of the new venues being played below. They include the largest North American shows of the band's career to date in Major League Baseball stadiums.

Def Leppard and Journey previously toured together in 2006 on the YEAH! tour in the USA. 74 shows were played with 848,342 tickets sold and a total gross of $38.7 million. The tour won 'Most Creative Tour Package' at the annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards in 2007 and was Number 14 on the Pollstar Top 100 North American tours list for 2006.

Tickets for the North American tour go on sale on 3rd February.
